Fun fact: asura actually means the race of demons (forest dwellers) in India. They are not necessarily bad, but most of them have bad karma revolving around them.

when wukong transforms, if you notice, it's much bigger than a nearby mountain, but still an atom smaller than a buddha's hand

The big difference in this scenes is that Asura punched the sh*t out of Wyzen. But Donky Wu Kong couldn't.

Putting the fantasy aside for a second. Even if you could hold up Buddha's hand as such. You've now taken all of the force generated from the entire surface area of the hand and pin pointed it into a single gorilla. The planet receives the impact regardless of how strong wukong is.
