Do you hear that? It’s a YouTuber that’s doing what he wants to do.

I normally don't enjoy newer country but his music reminds me of the good old stuff, I think it's the legidmate emotion.

Lyrics:
[Verse 1]
Deep down in the pines where the world has forgotten was still alive
Where the dirt roads twist along for no more than a mile
Where the old man’s bar marks the center of town, and the county was never dry
Where the people will go, where the people will stay
Where they live until they die

[Verse 2]
Well I knew a guy, his name was Ricky McCoy
An ass kicking bass fishing good ol’ boy
And he can build a fire in 10 seconds flat
And he can ride a bull even longer than that
Well he was only 15 when he dropped out of school
He said "I never been a genius, but I ain’t no fool
I know what I want, and I’mma get it in life
And I ain’t never gonna leave this place"
He said

[Chorus]
Man I ain’t never gonna leave this place
It’s where I’s (was) born, It’s where I’s raised
And when I’m old on my dying bed
I pray this is where I’m gonna lay my head
I got me a town I can call my home
I got me a place I can call my own
I told you once and I’mma say it again
I ain’t never gonna leave this place

[Verse 3]
Well Jessie was a young girl who grew up fast
She used to make her money lying down on her back
Her daddy drank whiskey till he’s numb in the head
He’d beat her every night until the day he was dead
Well she was just an only child with nowhere to go
In the same square mile where her seeds were sewn
"If there’s more to life, I guess I’ll never know
'Cause I ain’t ever gonna leave this place"
She said

[Chorus] (3x)
Man I ain’t never gonna leave this place
It’s where I’s (was) born, It’s where I’s raised
And when I’m old on my dying bed
I pray this is where I’m gonna lay my head
I got me a town I can call my home
I got me a place I can call my own
I told you once and I’mma say it again
I ain’t never gonna leave this place

This is a man that I want to thrive in the musical world. I want him to be know for his music, not the knife game.

Where as most modern country is senseless pandering this is so well done I don’t even know how to properly describe it.
A lot of older country musicians used actual storytelling to describe concepts that weren’t platitudes, they legitimately related to the listener.
I’m new to the channel and didn’t expect to hear such a great song from the dude who drank a milkshake full of bugs.
Life’s weird like that I guess.

I know this is almost 6 years old now, but thank you so much rusty for making music. It's helped me get through the hard times. I'll keep it playing till I'm in the ground.

I grew up with the good old country classics on a horse ranch. This song makes me nostalgic, sitting here from my Hollywood apartment.

I love this song because it unlike quite a few of your songs in that it does not speed up and get hectic and insane and is just calm

Love your music man. Tells great stories to a great tune. Good thing is, is that they all are diverse but still great. Keep it up looking forward to many more.
