Raygun Speaks Out: Aussie Breakdancers First Interview Since Paris Olympics: Preview

Tonight on #TheProjectTV, we will speak with Aussie breakdancer Raygun, who found herself at the centre of a storm following her performance at the Paris Olympics.

Raygun's entire breaking profile was manufactured by her close friends at AUSBreaking who had her ranked #1 in 2021/2222, and #2 in 2023. In 2024, she's not in their current Top 20 - mission accomplished. Raygun was defeating visibly more talented B-Girls with her husband Samuel Free serving as a judge a many of those highly questionable wins. Holy Molly, who Raygun defeated to qualify for Paris, is a more talented B-Girl than Raygun but Holy Molly has never defeated Raygun despite them battling at least four times in the past (videos of those battles are on YT). When breaking was announced as an Olympic event in December of 2019, the AOC subsequently reached out to DanceSport Australia who reached out to Raygun and her husband to organize the qualifying process. Raygun/husband then brought in their close friends at AUSBreaking while receive a 275, 000 grant to organize the qualifying process - the rest is history.

The entire 2023 Olympic qualifying process was rushed, full of registration red tape, and poorly advertised within the Oceania Region breaking community. Both Leah Clark and Catherine Tsang, two long time Australian B-Girls, have spoken out on those particulars in the newspaper after the fact of the Paris Olympics. An Aboriginal organization in the NT was denied funding to send their best B-Boys/B-Girls to the qualifying event. Many other Oceania Region nations like New Zealand, Samoa, Fiji, Polynesia, have more talented B-Gils than Raygun. Even in Australia there are more talented B-Girls than Raygun to be found on the breakdancing scene but Raygun is the Australian media hyped PhD B-Girl celebrity. Young Australian B-Girls like the pre-teen Sui are way more talented than Raygun, yet Ragun has help to destroy any opportunity for an upcoming B-Girl like Sui to ever compete for an Olympic berth due to her self serving narcissism.

Raygun had almost a year to get in tip-top shape and come up with an Olympic routine, but all she could mustard up was that balderdash that she put on display in Paris. She disrespected the Hip-Hop culture on the world stage with her buffoonery thus taking away the media's attention from the medal winners. Raygun now has many people outside of the Hip-Hop community questioning as to why breakdancing was even made into an Olympic event in the first place. Raygun takes zero responsibility for her actions and calls those people who rightfully criticize her haters while doubling down on playing the victim role. All Raygun had to do was go to Paris and give it her all in the event and none of this would be happening to her but instead she decided to do what she did all in an effort to enhance her academic profile and profitability. You reap what you sow... as the old saying goes.
