If it was an average channel it would have 15 minutes of vlogging and 50 secs of content. Thx Car and Driver

I had a spin in a new Supra last weekend: suddenly this makes sense. The car was a true beast with what I thought was ~340 hp and around 1500 kgs weight. I was rocketing out of corners and opening it up where I could - 340hp never felt like that! I thought it was just really smart gearing at first, then I suspected it may have had more power than quoted, but I dismissed that as Toyota would not undersell such an important car, and me just not understanding the other tricks that Toyota did to get so much performance from OK horsepower. How wrong I was. What I also found is that this thing is just built like a tank: 1500 kgs is a fair bit for a car like this and it did at times feel you were steering something that was a tad more portly than a Cayman, but in return there is this absolute feeling of a granite like chassis solidity. Even on some really off roads, the thing was a tank: no shaking, no squeaks, no sense the suspension was compensating for anything than the road. Most impressed.

this car has seriously grown on me. theres so much potential here and it excites me greatly. it also looks fantastic too which is great considering the atrocity that was the mockups.

Near 400 hp crank...not bad. Mod potential for this engine is fantastic.

Turns out it's also AWD, neat! 😂

Holy shit 427lb/ft of torque?! Insane for that little car. This means real #s are around 400hp crank with 500lbft of torque. What a little beast. Few mods and it'll push 450hp with 550lbft. No wonder they go 0-60 so quick

Toyota didn’t underestimate the HP, they just tuned it up when they saw the negative reaction against the HP it made

Not all that surprising, it is a BMW engine after all

BMW has released that their advertised power numbers are their very minimum under the least optimal conditions (poor fuel, altitude, heat, etc)

No longer on the fence about the Supra, Toyota was sand bagging hard, it’s a welcomed surprise

So that's almost 410 hp and 510 lb-ft at the crank. Wow.

It's interesting that they underrated the engine like they did with the previous Supra.

Wow that’s great crank hp but that torque figure at the wheels is nuts. No wonder it’s getting such quick times

That means it’s close to 400 at the Crank. I can’t wait to see what the aftermarket is able to do, the DME is unlocked too. - A better intake, downpipe, exhaust, heat exchanger and a tune will likely put it somewhere in the 400’s to the wheels, perhaps right around 450 to the wheels.

BMW has been known to under rate their engines.

So with a tune and bolt on's your looking at 500hp+....
