Strange lights seen in night sky over Phoenix on July 4

A 12 News photographer captured video of strange lights over Phoenix during a fireworks display on July 4. The lights have yet to be identified.

Over my lifetime I've seen a few things that cause me to believe that we're not alone !

Oddly enough, I saw something very similar back in February, at roughly 0345. A bright light caught my eye as I was leaving for work, then another light came off of the initial one, and started the zig-zag pattern. Kept my eye on it, but as it was moving, it's speed picked up incredibly. It moved in a back and forth direction, due south from northwest Surprise, until in disappeared on the horizon. Granted, this object in this video was moving much slower, and appears to be lower than what I saw, but the similarities are very close! Very cool stuff!

I’m a truck driver and I’ve seen some weird lights looking like balls of fire floating in the sky off Interstate 8 south of Phoenix. They glow, ascend & descend move in weird Patterns. They would also disappear and reappear. I’ve seen it multiple time in the last year.

My boyfriend and I have been seeing these for over a month now!! The sky by our house tonight is FILLED with them...billions!!! And they hover sway left to right blink split into 2 change colors. Our friends think we're nuts lol but my 10 year old sees them too. We've even seen a triangular purplish opening that opened then closed twice. What is going on

My mom and I saw these lights on Saturday evening July 2. Same area. And there were 3 of them!

Saw this exact same thing on July 6th in China. It moved with a bit more precision though. It was glowing orange, pulsing (not flashing) but not in any repeated pattern, doing at least mach 1-2 (silently) and making some really tight turns before darting off into the horizon. With the speed, height and eventually the range (it must have flown at least 15 to 20km before it was out of sight) I'm pretty sure it wasn't a drone.

Interesting, I seen a video 5-6 days ago about strange lights similar to the famous arizona lights in San Diego now this sighting. I’ve seen videos similar in Brazil of them acting in this behavior but in that video it was multiples.

She said a meteor .. they go one way.. she mentioned fireworks.. they go up and disperse. Definitely a flying object . No ands if or buts

I seen the same big light moving at a incredible speed and it went up then then disappeared within a second and I just looked stunned at the air

It's 345 in the morning in chandler az I went outside to smoke and a trail of lights looking like stars trekked across the sky ...I swear

I used to make those things when I was a kid. I worked after school at a dry cleaners and I would get the large plastic bags you put coats and dresses in, seal the top opening, and suspend a small aluminum foil pan (maybe 2" in diameter) to the bottom of the bag with 4 strings. On a calm night, one person would hold the bag up and open at the bottom while your helper would light a small bit of candle in the foil pan, once the heat filled the thin bag it would start to float up and away. Once it was up 50 or more feet you no longer saw the candle flame just a flickering glow in the clear bag. Very eerie and super natural looking. We would try to set off 2 or 3 of them together for the best effect. sometimes when the candle started to go out the bag would deflate and catch fire raining down drips of burning plastic. Many more than one person swore they were UFOs. Great fun for a 15-year-old especially when you can pull the wool over adult eyes!
I wouldn't recommend doing this in a dry spell though!

It looks like a parachutist with flares putting on a show a couple of miles away. Pretty common

I actually had the same experience! Altough I only saw one in the sky. At first, it wasn't moving, and it looked like a normal star, but the it suddenly got a bit brighter (kinda like Venus in the morning sky) and it moved in a straight line. I was confused at first, then I thought maybe it was a helicopter, or maybe and airplane. But if it was an airplane or helicopter, it would have had blinking lights instead of a bright and white light that just stays on the object. I'm still figuring out what it was, until this very day...

As a MUFON Field Investigator, I’ve seen this before. My first impression is of a sky diver with a flare hung below his/her feet. It doesn’t gain altitude which tells me that it’s not under its’ own power, either.

Been seeing the same kinda thing the past 2 nights and it’s the FIRST TIME I HAVE EVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE IT. I live in north Redondo beach lmk If yall seen it too.

I saw that on July 4th, there was a plane with sparks coming off of it. So I said to my wife to look, than the sparks came away from the plane and the flare dropped slowly and disappeared. Watched for more but didn't see anymore. Yes I have a video of the flare as well I couldn't get my phone out in time to get the plane with sparks

We saw them in Missouri the same night on the 4th. And years ago in Illinois in Aug. Orange glowing light going toward the airport but def not a plane. I saw at least 6 go across quickly but quietly on the 4th. Very cool!
