Art and maths lesson - how to draw 3D shapes with pupils!

In this tutorial you will discover how you can use your art lesson as a maths lesson to help build and embed 2D and 3D shape knowledge with your class.

I will show a quick and easy technique that I use with all ages, all of the time. All you will need is a pencil, ruler and a piece of paper, and best of all, your kids will love it and will go home and show off their new skills.

This is a perfect activity to use in your art sketchbooks and it provides a fantastic opportunity to see evidence of progression. And best of all, you get to sneak in some extra maths.

I volunteered in a Kindergarten classroom several years ago. The kindergarten teacher actually used this method to teach her students how to draw cubes. The funny thing is the kids drew better cubes than I did! Lol

I had never heard of this method before she used it with her students and haven't heard it used since that time until seeing your video. I don't draw distorted cubes anymore. I'll have to try the other shapes, too. 😅
