A judge has denied Donald Trump's appeal and says that the former President must sit down for conversations with the New York Attorney General, and he has to do it under oath. Trump has fought diligently to avoid having to give sworn testimony to prosecutors, but his legal options are quickly running out as he continues to lose appeals. Ring of Fire's Farron Cousins explains what this means for the case.

Donald Trump suffered yet another major loss in court this week, along with Don junior and Ivanka Trump. When a four judge panel on an appeals court said that, yes, you have to abide by a February 17th lower court ruling that says you have to go testify under oath in front of New York, attorney Latisha, James New York, attorney general, Latia James, as part of the ongoing civil investigation into the Trump organization. So Trump, Trump Jr. Ivanka, you all have to testify and you have to do it under oath, which means if you lie, they can hit you with perjury. But here's the thing Donald Trump had gone in actually had his lawyers go in just to be clear. Uh, and they argued, Hey, listen, my clients can't testify in front of the civil investigators because we got this criminal investigation going on over here and they're just gonna use the information to prosecute 'em okay.

Okay. Okay. It's a lot to unpack, right? Because if you're worried that having your clients talk to one group of people is gonna lead them to have criminal charges leveled against them over here. Then are you not admitting that your clients have probably engaged in some kind of criminal behavior? Um, not a smart argument. And of course, as the judge has found also not a winning argument, cuz Trump's lawyers had argued this violates their constitutional rights because it could be used against them over here, which again, kind of a green light that yeah, they committed some crimes, but the judges told them like, that's not how it works, buddy. The existence of a criminal investigation does not change the facts of the civil investigation. Plus you idiot the judge, didn't say that buddy should have plus they complete the fifth. Like, you know, that's a thing they can do.

Right? I think it's amazing that this four judge appellate panel had to give Trump's lawyers a lesson in constitutional law. Like you, you know, they can plead the fifth in the civil, right? Like they, they absolutely can do this. And if they can't do it over here or they choose not to, they can still do it. And the criminal investigation, nobody's trying to trap anybody here. We're just trying to get some answers to probes that have been going on for years now. And your clients continue to try to hold things up. And as everybody is always said, and of course I think at this point is it is exceptionally obvious. They wouldn't be hiding if they didn't have something worth hiding. If these people did absolutely nothing wrong, they would go sit down in front of Latitia, James

Talk, as long as she wanted them to talk and then get the hell out of there and move on. You know, these are the ones say like, oh, they're just trying to tie us up. Oh, they're dragging this thing out. You're dragging this thing out. If you truly did nothing wrong, you could put an into it by the end of next week, by going up to New York, sitting down with her, actually turning over the documents that you swear, you can't find anywhere and setting the whole record straight.

Under oath means nothing to him or this country anymore.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the judge, instead of fining him for contempt, sends him to jail until he agrees to testify?

Most people have the odd skeleton in the closet, in the case of the Trumps they've got several graveyards worth of skeletons in theirs

Trump since 2016-"I can't release my taxes because I'm being audited."

Didn't he once say that if you are innocent you don't have to take the fifth. So if he does then he must be guilty and therefore no trial is required

The best part is that Trump is forced to testify to a black woman. It must be the most irritating thing in his miserable life.

If you plead the 5th in a civil case, which is effectively what you do by saying you cannot testify in a civil case because it may incriminate you in a criminal case, the jury is allowed to draw negative inference from it and you are screwed by default. Nice job.

....that and he probably is thinking who has the audacity to question anything I do or have done?.... clearly he's scared of something...

If someone tries do everything they can to stay out of court, that means they're probably guilty right? Why can't republicans see that?
