Dub felt more sad and hopeless and sub felt more like he was losing his mind with despair. Both amazing

the dialogue in the dub is honestly top tier, "look at you! you haven't grown up one goddamn bit!" is really good. then again, if its an official sub it's not gonna be as thorough with conveying emotions as a fansub translation

Erens dubbed voice actor does a great job tbh, but sub always just fits more for me. I am super biased towards sub, although I watched the dub before I watched the sub

A perfect way to explain the aot dub vs sub.
The dub has a more realistic tone of voice from Eren, it sounds like a crying teen.
The sub has a more emotional tone fit for animes and that's not a bad thing.

The raw agony in his voice in the sub is palpable, I've rewatched that scene so many times, and I never fail to tear up if not straight up bawl. That being said, I loved the dub too, both did a great job conveying Eren's emotions here. But that laugh in the sub gives me chills.

There is no definitive "SUB BETTER" or "DUB BETTER". It's all down to personal preference. Unless the Dub or Sub is objectively awful, then it's your own opinion. I personally prefer the dub, but that's only because I grew up on the dub. Form your own opinions, people.

What I love about the sub and this scene is that eren is crying while he is laughing at himself and how worthless he is and you can hear the laughing and crying being one

The laugh i give to sub for sure but the speech would give to dub. You feel his pain in dub but the sub laugh felt real
