AOT taught me "You are always a villian in someone's story, no matter which side you choose". This is why AOT is my Favourite Anime 🔥

For me it always comes back to the moment he kissed Historia’s hand. In that moment he truly sees EVERYTHING. His face says it all. That’s the moment he realizes just how far he truly has to go to save the people he loves. In S4 he’s so dark and cold-blooded not because he’s evil, but because the weight of what he HAS to do - and doesn’t WANT to do - is unbearable.

Eren is one of the most realistic characters in any anime series....Even I would kill my enemy to save my loved ones....

Beautifully explained. I always remember what mikasa said “This world is cruel and merciless But its also very beautiful”

His ambitions remained the same. But HE did change. He became confident, cold and calculated. Younger Eren kept getting frustrated over not being able to save his friends and comrades, despite his abilities. He became more sure of how to do what he needs to do, later on.

This is the best explanation of the difficulty of this show as well as it's beauty in the complex character of Eren Yeger

People think Eren is evil but they really don’t get it, he’s not the big bad villain that you see in other stories, he’s not even like madara or Obito who are both anti-villains trying to do a what they think is a good thing regardless of the immoral actions. Eren is a just a boy trying to protect his friends, family and peoples and it’s a situation pushed to the extreme, the people of outside of eren’s homeland all hate and I mean hate his kind and want them dead no matter what and so Eren pushed into a corner with nothing left to do but either go all out and wipe out those who try to wipe his people out or left his people get massacred for the sake of those who have no connection to him.

Eren isn’t a villain, he’s just a human put in a impossible situation and forced to chose

Bro, I remember when they made it to the ocean shore, and Eren pointed out towards the distance and said once they defeated everyone beyond the horizon, will they finally be free and I felt that. This man deserves his rumbling.

He really had the most layered, complex and well elaborated Character development, with enormous depth and complexity, he understood his enemies who were the titans ( even in s3 last ep he spared a titan and let it live the but the one who still have been in vengeance and saw titans as his first threat was floch because he was unaware of the fact that the enemy is the humanity itself which they had no clue of but Eren did he did knew at that part that his enemies are planning to bomb his country off the face of the planet in that scene who assured to spare the titan was Floch “Hey are you guys sure to let this titan live ?”, Eren didnt cared cause he just got to know the inevitable truth and already set path for him, imagine you dont even have the freedom to choose what to do with your life it is already set and locked for eternity, the way eren touched the handicapped titan and said “ Its our kind forcefully sent to paradise demolishing its dreams just because of some atrocities done by their ancestors which the eldians hates themselves even on being brainwashed by the misinterpreted history given by marley ), he changed a view towards them(Titans) even tho titans were the ones who destroyed his home and ate his mom as well, he showed sympathy to his blood thirty enemy in the final ep of S3 . Thats a soo much peak of a character development shifting the view of the character and developing the character without changing of his primary goals . Really a Goat 🐐.

Finally The panel “Grounded” booms his character development and also marks an end of him .

I was always an Eren fan even when people loved Levi more, I always loved Eren's character and his will in pursuit of freedom

No one would sit in a cage made of titan walls and wait until enemies who they never met come and wipe out their people. Eren didn't want his friends to be seen as monsters and be killed so he had to choose and fight against unfairness and the cruel world. I felt so bad for Eren that he was forced to be put in such situation. Hands down one of the best, if not the best, animes.

My little brother is watching it for the first time, and I'm rewatching along with him, and we are on s1 and I'm realizing he was always like this.

I find it funny how people are so ready to jump on the "Villain Eren" train because he doesn't live up to the typical "Hero" stereotype of being selfless and sacrifices everything for the greater good, throught the series he's shown to be MORE human than most of the stereotypical protagonists in Anime due to the fact that he'll selfishly put what is most dear to him before the rest of the world

It also helps his case that the rest of the world would sooner kill his people aswell regardless of whether or not he takes the stereotypical hero role

Eren isn’t evil, it’s just pay back time.

Eren is simply a person who would go to extreme lengths to protect the people he loves, and by any means necessary.
