Broooo yess this is IT. Saab 900 SPG, the 'one'.
Wishing you absolute buckets of fun restoring it with your son. I do wish you had landed in NorCal so I could have more Saab wrenching buddies.

And my 2c, I think this is the one worth restoring 'properly'. No vinyl wraps. Proper custom interior restoration (for example cutting and fitting a brand new dash cover, headliner etc). An actual paint job at the very end when you are ready. You could then sell it for 10-15k if you needed to justify it (but I'd keep it forever!).

Swedish Dynamics should be in your vocabulary. Trust me. Made my SPG a Monster. A lane jumping psychopath that left me with a permanent smile during ownership and every time I reminisce about her. That narrow range between boost onset and redline is the happy place on this one. The sudden transition is so much fun to fight, tires alternately breaking loose, trying to send you into another lane. Man I miss her. A uniquely Saab experience. You will not regret this purchase.

That's awesome! I can totally relate about how you felt getting back into a manual. I just went through the same thing - My C8 being dual clutch auto while fun wasn't the same. Since I picked up the Type R, being able to row gears again keeps a smile on my face.
