The manual check isn’t technically wrong. The number of points used to measure the flatness of the plane is wrong. If you did the manual check with the same number of points it would give you roughly the same result. The automatic check is faster though hands down

Manual = Shape the results to your liking until your dimensions are OK

Automatic used much more points to measure the flatness, compared to manual. No surprise that the result is different.
But, more points = more accurate result
For example, in case of roundness, you often use a scan function which means …you capture hundreds or even thousands of points instead of just a few, giving a much more precise and reliable measurement.

Manual probing can introduce user bias, as you can choose where to take the points and potentially adjust until the result looks acceptable. Automated scanning, on the other hand, provides a more comprehensive and objective evaluation of the feature.

Dang .0009 under 1 never used our cmm pretty cool stuff prototyping (3d printed molds for injection molding of rubber parts ) a little cnc (the combination really helps with harder rubber that loves to kill the printed inserts (same rubber as in production injected under pressure into prints)

Are you checking flatness? To me it looks like you’re checking parallel to the side you’re loaded on.
