Thank you. This was just the test I was looking for to decide if an upgrade from my SATA Samsung 860 EVO, to an NVMe PCIe SSD would give me significant improvements to my game loads. They're so close that I'll spend that money on other upgrades. Also, surprised at the Optane performance. Better than I expected.

I tried playing Rust on a HDD once. After a minute passed by, I turned off the game, moved the install folder in Steam to my SSD, relaunched the game, and still got into the game faster than if I had used the HDD.

This takes me back to having an Xbox original and loading up a Morrowind save 3/4 through the game.
It's still loading 15 years later.
