I have this theory that women basically have two brains. Their body brain and their head brain. Men have one. Their head tells them they want a kind man who gives them compliments and gives them the princess treatment. Acquiescing to their every whim, etc. The body brain wants a guy who’s dominant, capable of violence when it’s needed, able to seize a situation and take it over when needed. The body wants to be put in its place and call it out on its irrational bullshit. It wants to feel like it doesn’t have to exist in its head brain because their man has got this.
Honestly, believe the head brain at your own peril, the body brain wins most of the time. Unless the woman is angry, an angry woman tends to be stuck in their head.

“I want to feel safe” is loaded and actually the most honest and complete answer you’ll get. From an NLP perspective, the object is left out of that sentence (deletion)- “I want to feel safe (from whom or what?).” Following up on this is a goldmine. She likely means safe from other men or the world at large, so she’s thinking about the kind of man who can accomplish this. Strong enough to stand against other men, confident enough to do it, capable of protecting her, capable of managing his own emotions well enough to accomplish that, can build coalitions, climb a social hierarchy, etc.
