I'm a big advocate of the BP system. Definitely felt better not only for the playing experience, but also the social experience, as in people would have to meet up with other people and trade for bps and such. Now it's just barrel farming and sitting on your loot until you go to bed and wake up to nothing.

yeah but your coming at it from a clan perspective, think about the solo and small groups which is most of rust, the XP system made it so hard for these smaller groups to get ahead of the large clans, the XP system felt good for your big groups because you can abuse it and get high level equipment within a matter of hours, you enjoying it less because the system isnt pandering to large clans anymore

I continued playing this game because of your weekly uploads and eventually started my own channel. TBH, the blueprint system brought the most joy to the game. The RNG factor of winning the lotto (ak, bolt rocket bp, etc) was discontinued for still a grindy effort to balance randomness. Wipe cycles are fun. But they were most romantic during the era of the blueprints. Antizerg ramifications need to be reexamined.

Theres a lot of things facepunch needs to sort out, like the no clipping teleporting animals, the 'lag compensation' where laggy players can melee you from 20 fucking meters away, and half the time you cant find peoples guns because they've no clipped through a rock or fallen through the world. The 'balancing' is what i consider one of the worst, you shouldn't have to triple headshot geared people with spears to kill them, and people can pretty much out-heal constant bow shots. And now that there's alot of components it would be nice if we had a few more inventory slots because as it stands now you need to exploit the crafting to be able to loot everything.

I haven't seen a single argument that had any merit against components and for BP's.

I'm almost always a solo player, 99% of my 1k hours on RUST is from solo play.

I opt into weekly cycled servers like Rusty Moose by choice. So APPARENTLY, from what everyone has been bitching about, I should be having the hardest fucking time known to mankind and I'm not.

I don't have any qualms with it. I don't feel like RUST is dramatically different from any other system.

I think the reason RUST is boring now is because it's been the same game for years on end. All you're doing is stopping the DEV's from progressing the game along and adding new content by emphasizing that the system is the biggest problem with the game.

It's not. A lack of content is. No matter what happens with the system, the RUST community is just going to bitch about its faults. Even if you bring back the BP system, people are going to bitch that it isn't the XP system or it isn't the Component system or it isn't a different system that suits THEM in particular. FP needs to ignore their playerbase entirely and go on about their day and start working on things that matter. This is just another case of 'none of you know what the fuck you want, you just think you do.' You've succumbed to some bullshit nostalgia and equated that to 'better than this, ' and chosen to ignore all the faults of whatever you're remembering.

We can't get past this obstacle because the community won't stop forcing the DEV's to spend all their time addressing it over and over and over and over and over.

Shut up and let them add new content in the game. Don't like the way RUST is right now? Stop fucking playing it and find something else to do with your time until it's in a state that you can enjoy. Go play on a modded server that has the old BP system in it. Go play on a modded server that has fully crafted items in barrels again. These servers exist, they're out there.

And Garry was 100% justified in his posts towards these people on Reddit, who you apparently have chosen to placate for this position you're taking. They were the angriest, most bitter, saltiest fucking people on the planet and all they did was litter Reddit with threads of insults and bitching and moaning. We're not talking about well thought-out, constructive criticism and even the posts that DID resemble that weren't well-thought out at all because they were just parroted ideas that's been lingering around on Reddit since the dawn of time that fit the generalization Garry's used to describe them.
