The Pikes Peak makes more sense . This is my understanding . Desmodromic valves were designed to solve valve bounce as the spring material of the day, 1970's, was not the quality that is available to day . As much as I love the mechanical set up of the Desmodromic valve system . A spring valve set up has the advantage of longer service intervals, all the items you mentioned, plus in the real world I don't believe you could tell the difference . As I say this I have never ridden a V4, but I have many years with V2 Ducat's that have had Desmodromic valve trains.

I own a 4cyl bike and wasn't sure about the sound of this one, until you did de 40-80 pull.
Damn, it turned into MotoGP🏍🏁

To answer your question--- I just ordered a 2025 Pikes Peak. The RS is a great bike--but I couldn't do the desmo service interval. The cylinder deactivation under low load and rpm and the 36k valve inspect was what tipped it. Waiting patiently (not really) for April delivery.

you gave the price a rating of "10", I think it should be the other way and get a 1 or a 2, indicating it's a horrible price. A 10 would, to me, indicate a great price that everyone would be able to handle.

If the Lamborghini Urus were a motorcycle, this would be it.

I would buy this bike and I DID buy this bike! You nailed it with the comment that his bike is made for two things - the track and touring. I fitted mine with the full Akrapovic race exhaust w/upmap - OMG - it sounds and performs amazing! It's insane how quick this bike is for what it is. I used to have a Multistrada V4 with the grand turismo engine. I don't care what anyone says - the RS is quicker and faster everywhere in the power band unless you have the RPMs way down low like 2-3 RPMS, but honestly, if you're going to be getting on it, who does that? You're going to be in higher RPMs. I'm in absolute love with this bike! My only constructive criticism is the factory seat. For the track it's fine. For longer rides, I ended up getting a heated Sargent seat. It's much more comfortable, but still easy to slide the buttcheeks from side to side in the twisties. Great video - I just wish you had a place where you could really open it up more! :D

It looks so good!
If I had money to buy and own one for long time I wouldn't hesitate at all!
Desmosedici Stradale engine that is used in Panigale and Streetfighter on a much comfier bike... dream!

it’s certainly a dream bike but any of the multistrada v4’s are amazing

Now you need to get on a 2024 BMW M1000XR with the full carbon.

I only watched 10 seconds, unfortunately, but I hit like and left a comment cause I appreciate the price tag I can't afford being disclosed before I potentially fell in love 🤝

OC: Between RS, Pikes Peak or BMW GS, I'll take option 4 and buy new Yamaha R9. Buy white and red R9, some new gear, pay year's worth of insurance and still have plenty to buy new PS5 Pro and new gaming PC.

Fun review to watch knowing how much you loved the Pikes Peak.

In terms of it's comparison to the BMW M1000XR, I wonder if a reason why magazines hasn't done the shootout is because they're not really in the same price bracket. Comparably spec'ed M1000XR (without carbon wheels) is $10k+ less than the V4 RS. Without carbon wheels it's like $8k less.

I suppose for some bikes you buy it because you just want it and not because it's a better package or value when compared to others.

OC: I’d go with the RS just to have the dry clutch and Ducati trademark desmo valve train.

OC: Having setup and ridden the PP and RS, I’d take the RS all day. I just like the Pani engine so much better.

I want the GT. It will be my next bike

OC crew: if I had unlimited funds, I go with the RS, with the Akra race pipe and tune that you can get through Ducati.

Short of that, I'd go with the Pikes Peak for the same reasons you mentioned, mainly fear of the cost of a Desmo servicing.

The way EVERY Multistrada should have left the factory, minus DESMO valve train.
