How did you determine that first mark you made before the video started??

Im sorry, i know this video is old, but im attempting to use it with the provided Free Drill Guide and am bumping into some issues. At 0:30, you mark the edges of your support bar, and then at 0:38, you line the bottom left edge of the drill guide with a different line on the back of the board. Is that measured in any way? Lining up the drill guide seems to be "eyeballed" down the guide itself? Sure, the next several holes will a specific distance from the first, but I just wanted to make sure I didnt miss something. Thank you!

Do you supply a drill bit for the 1/2" bracket poles? Is the 13/16" bit designed for the 3/4" poles and too large for the 1/2"?

What kind of wood is that? My drill was struggling and I'm using a Milwaukee M18

Hi guys I’m installing a 6” thick by 6’ long cedar mantle. My bracket has 4 supports and I have just the free drill guide. I fear not getting it level. What do you suggest?

Where did the installers find that excellent drill bit?! Can't find a nice non-aggressive 13/16" long bit.
