Just wanted to clarify “smoking off tripwires” and elaborate for people new to the controller role.

The narrator said “smoke off a tripwire, ” but you cannot smoke off a Cypher tripwire. You can smoke off other Sentinel “flank watching utility” such as Chamber trip and Killjoy alarm bot and turret because they are vision-activated (alarm bot is similar enough).

Smoking off Deadlock’s sonic sensors would be pointless because they are noise-activated, not vision-activated.

As a omen main this was a really well made video showing how omen is much more than just a 2 dimensional controller, and I love how I can be more aggressive when I need to when I'm omen

It just so happens that everytime I use an unconventional smoke to enable several exit-points or apply pressure or whatever I get flamed by the teammates that don't understand how to play with it. So I go back to using smokes everyone on my team can understand. I'm Plat/Dia by the way...

Tbh smokers such as me knows these things to the heart, its just a lot of us, especially those introverted (like me) don't dare to call for smokes. We fear the consequences to come if anything fails even if it is not our fault.

tbf as much as I do agree about the not using all your smokes at the start of a round it does depend on the match, map, enemy team agents and enemy aggression level as well as which smoker you have.

As an Omen main I sometimes use both smokes early on at the start as I know that I'll get them back afterwards but using all brims smokes start of the round yeah, that's not ideal

Bro, this ONE VIDEO alone helped me INSTANTLY. I hopped into comp as clove and started being more creative with mid site smokes on defense and post-entry. 3 Clutches, and an ace-clutch and one near-clutch. I always knew controllers were the most pressured to play out clutch situations but I never realized I would be able to do that as well. I am not about to buy the course but DAMN this was like a wake up call for me thank you.

As a controller main, this video made me really proud of how much i've learnt and how much of this video I already knew. And this video is totally right. Smokes are probably the most unique and important role in the game. If done right it could mean the difference of winning and losing. And with a lot of duelst players going to clove, ive had a ton of players throw the game by messing up smokes, denying out team info, this video is a must see for all those new clove players

Yesterday on bind 1v3 with clove on B site, on long with OP, one site, one no info, put smoke garden so long gets trapped, kill reyna on site while he was going for elbow after seeing my smoke thinking I will be there and I was on her back, seeing brimstone on heaven and got an efective shot, finally threw smoke on spike, defused half, kayo pushed and took vandal from elbow, I threw my decompose and kill him and took the round

I found that dropping a smoke pretty much anywhere on site is helpful

I am a smokes main. I feel like I mastered the role to some degree. I am playing Clove atm and I am having a blast. A tip for Clove specifically when you are dead, if a teammate is playing super aggressively or camping a useless corner, smoke them. in the first scenario they will think, do they want to continue aggressing? or will they back off? in the second, it will force them into a more proactive position. It may not be the most game breaking tip but I won rounds like that.

Problem with midsite smokes is that it can also be used by enemy players, smooth brained players who never played controllers or have not seen anything outside the standard smokes never use it to their advantage
