Interesting. I'll give it a try. I usually make my tartar sauce with (besides the pickles, black pepper, parsley and mayo) a splash of white wine, a little garlic, mustard and a hard boiled egg all chopped up very finely.

great tip of making tartar sauce. is it just me but I'd seen people adding a boild egg to this sauce? I don't like boild eggs though.

Good but better cut with a knife with hand (crispy and more explosive in the mouth).
As the name doesnt mention, it's a French recipe inspired by mongol's, hun's, turkish ("tatar") food (you can add fresh mint, dill and chive too, which is typically eastern with yoghurt, see your tzaziki (which is perfect) for more eastern acurate sauce, you can mix the too. For myself i even make for fish (less fat than meat) a mix of tartar (with french mayonaise) and cream or yoghurt and all the fresh herbs mentioned: DIVINE!).
Voilà!
