I am a member of the Church too and we have about 2-month supply so far. I have been thinking for a long time that since we don't have a big space for our home storage(we live in Japan), I'm sure it'll be OK if I don't try that hard to store 1-year supply until recently. But as I encourage people around me to try store food and supply as much as possible, I realized that if our Prophet recommends us to have a year's supply, I should try to do it no matter what! So thank you so much for sharing your example!

I did the same thing to my under the porch which was a coal room. I dry locked the walls painted it and put up shelves. I also use the raspberry and berry boxes from Costco the ones they ship it in because I can stack them and they are sturdy. Thanks for sharing!

I love the way you think with your organizational skills but moreover I love the way you love, saving up enough that you are in a position to help others. To me that is the true Testament of a child of God. We don't just look out for ourselves we try to look out for everyone in Jesus name

Brigham Young first mentioned the need for Latter-day Saints to have a "year's supply" back in 1864? He encouraged Saints then to collect 7 years' worth of food!  In the early days of the Mormon Church, the members were counseled to have a 7-years supply of food on hand (seven years of famine in the Bible). Then LDS went to a 3-year standard.  Then they reduced it to 1-year.  In 2002, they reduced it more.
