leopard geckos should have around 40 gallons (36x18x18/12) in order to thrive. DONT put them in a 10 gal like I accidentally did (thought the 10 gal was a 20). I moved mine to an actual 20 and he's much happier, but he will be upgraded soon bc he's a big boy.

Bearded dragons aren't simple either. they have a varied diet and NEED UVB light and supplements

Fennec Foxes are pretty high maintenance and also can be really distructive. Capybaras are also high maintenance for the reasons you said. Sugargliders are literally one of the most high maintenance pets but they are cute and if you do the right research and have the time you should so get them. Chinchilla are also quite high maintenance and also its common for them to throw their poop. Ferrets are also pretty high maintenance and also you have to be pretty gentle with them and have to make sure the room they stay in have no even slightly possible danger. Ball Pythons are quite low maintenance as well as leopard geckos

I have parents that are old school. They don't see reptiles, amphibians, crustaceans or birds as pets. To them a dog or a cat is a pet. My father would say "what does a (insert exotic pet) do? You can't take them for a walk."

As much as I love hedge hogs I highly recommend not getting one for the fact that there’s a rising gene where they’re slowly go paralyzed, it was so hard for me to watch mine who would run no joke all night slowly lose it ability to even stand still while shaking uncontrollably but who knows there may be a way to check if it has a chance to have the gene or not

Snakes do not require live prey to survive. Rare cases could occur, but most snakes in captivity eat frozen thawed rats and mice that are heated up

Please do your research before purchasing any new pets. This video says that these are low maintenance animals but some of them are not. So again please do your research!!!

Salmonella Infectiom

Many animals and pets can carry these germs, even if they look clean and healthy. Animals that can spread Salmonella to people include

Poultry (chicks, chickens, ducklings, ducks, geese, and turkeys)
Other birds (wild birds)
Reptiles (turtles, lizards, and snakes)
Amphibians (frogs and toads)
Rodents (mice, rats, hamsters, and guinea pigs)
Other small mammals (hedgehogs)
Farm animals (goats, calves, cows, sheep, and pigs)

If your worried about the low-maintenance the pet probably doesn't need you to own them.

Axolotls should not be on this list at all they are very sensitive and ball pythons should not be considered a beginner snake unless you have the proper space needed for them. SNAKES DO NOT NEED LIVE PREY TO LIVE it would probably be more harmful for both the snake and the rodent to feed live not only because the animal is alive and suffering when it’s being eaten but also the rodent could bite the snake and cause serious injury if the snake is not interested in it. So Basically Always ask if the snake is on frozen thawed prey when you buy one because in general frozen thawed in most cases costs less and also is just better in general for both animals

IN WHAT WORLD ARE FERRETS LOW MAINTENANCE

Snakes. I don't know a single animal that is easier to maintain and care for than a snake. Ball pythons for example on needs to eat once a week or longer and is completely content with not being handle a lot if not at all. Though, i feel you should give it some interaction. They are slow moving chill and very friendly.
