This man is absolutely correct. Set the general population back a thousand years. Had that library not been burned to the ground we would have put a man on the moon during the Victorian era. Do your research on Victorian era technology. They were more than capable of building everything necessary to land a man on the moon, had all of the fabricating knowledge necessary to even build the electronics, they just didn't have the knowledge to do so. Had the information in the library of Alexandria not been lost to the world the schools during the Victorian era would have been teaching the same things that were teaching now hundreds of years ago.

Ive been saying this since i first learned about the library. I was so curious as to where the knowlege might still be. If u follow all of the wars from then, track which empires "burned" each subsequent library established by the victor of the previous war. And the path is fairly straight forward. No doubt knowledge was lost along the way, but look it up for yourself.
