One of my friends has 32 cats. I've witnessed at least 3 of them ate their own babies just after giving birth. My friend says sometimes a mother cat eats its baby who is the weakest.

Mice, and a lot of other animals eat their young. This could happen for many reasons. The myth is that it happens because humans touched them, but that’s not EXACTLY true. Animals like rabbits and wild bunny’s may abandon their nest along w/ their baby’s if they see a human touching it, or doing whatever because they feel as if it’s unsafe. This mouse likely ate its baby due to stress, and it not actually being its baby. Mice are NOT like dogs or cats and will eat their young if it’s not theirs smh..


Edit: I actually just found out that they can adopt other baby mice, I just feel like this still wasn’t the right time whatsoever. I’m guessing the thing that happened was that her whole litter died, so she was likely under a lot of stress afterwards, yes? You basically just have her a stress snack.

Edit #2: Ik I’m making a ton of edits, but bare with me. I found out that she ate her litter, so this is an even WORSE timing to give her a new baby. You KNEW she ate her actual litter, yet you still decided to give her another one? From what I can tell, you have her the baby literally not even that short after she ate her actual litter. You ligit just gave her an extra snack. Especially since you made the comment that she ate this one, too! She likely did it due to stress. You even said it yourself that mice, and a lot of other animals eat their young due to stress.
