It's truly a dystopian world if Ryan Gosling can't find a real girlfriend lol.

The part where he runs across the “you look lonely” Joi at the end is a heartbreaking moment. Mainly because he knows she’s just an AI and the Joi he knows is gone.

Ryan Gosling is literally the best person they could have picked for this role. The dude has such a naturally expressionless face, it really makes it easy to become immersed in the idea that he is a Replicant.

I grew up without ability to shit. I have always dreamed about being able to shit like everyone else, but as time passed, that hope dwindled. However, I stumbled upon this video, and all of a sudden, I shat myself, and this experience was much better than I ever thought it would be. I would like to thank you mr gotaro for blessing my ass with your content.

This character works because, like a lot of the broken men that loves it, he too thinks "He is it". He believes, he strives, gives everything he got. And has to go trough a rough heartbraking ride in the end to discover that, that was never even the case to begin with, at all.

What happens when "You are not it"? What happens when you couldnt reach the promised happiness because universe just decided to say "No"?

Joi was the only thing that kept Joe in check, even though she's not real. He died for something he believed in, knowing he did good. I love this movie so much man, I wish I could rewatch it like it was the 1st time again man.

"You look lonely, I can fix that"
Actually, no one can fix that

The scene when the Joi advertisement says, 'You look like a good Joe' resonated with me. The realization that the Joi he loved was a creation, that she had chosen the name 'Joe' because of how she was made, hit like a truck. Some see this as a manipulation, as proof that the entire relationship was a fabrication and that Joi was nothing but a well designed and soulless product. However, when Joe looked at his gun, I think he recognized that while Joi may have been created for the purpose of love, created to simulate a loving and emotional relationship, she had fulfilled her purpose in a true and meaningful way. "Dying for the right cause is the most human thing we can do."

Joe was just told that he is a manufactured replicant, not one naturally born. His CO's words about 'getting on well' without a soul might have come back to him, then. Joe goes on to fulfill his own, more violent purpose in a true and meaningful way. He dies having accomplished that, for the cause he chose. Just like Joi died after recognizing the risks of disconnecting her antenna, for the cause that she chose. Her cause was Joe, so I am convinced that she did love him.

Its so heartbreaking that he goes through the entire movie without an ounce of joy or happiness in his life. He loses his specific Joi model and just when he thinks he's special, when he finally might have a purpose and some adventure in his life, he dies. He could only belong to this world if he died. I know he was artificially created but you could tell he longed to feel something, anything! And the fact that so many young adult men (including myself) relate to this character is the absolute worst part.

I never grew up my entire life. I have always dreamed about having more than one cell and be able to do all the things the other fetuses did. I felt that it was in my destiny, but as time passed, that hope dwindled. However, I stumbled upon this video, and all of the sudden, I performed mitosis and split myself into two cells, and that experience was much better than i thought it would be. I grew up without being able to say "I grew up without being able to". I have always dreamed about being able to say "I grew up without being able to" the way everyone else does. But as time passed away, that hope dwindled. However, I stumbled upon this video and all of a sudden, I said "I grew up without being able to", and this experience was better than I ever thought it would be. I would like to thank you Mr. Gotaro for blessing my dyslexic ass with your content.
