That is a nice little piece of home engineering, it adds a lot of helpful stuff - and yes, I agree that the 1mm thread pitch with 10-ridged knobs is a brilliant idea!

Hi Adrian, I like the way you went about making the Quill Stop. nice & solid, leaving room for attachments. Something I need to do on my Rong Fu RF 30, + Make or modify the Quill Lock. Keep up your Great Machining, Your doing Very Well. Stay safe :)

Can't remember if I already commented but it was a brilliant video and good to see you back. I subscribed to Jon. Fantastic to have another British engineering channel. I know the trials of setting up a workshop only too well. Regarding the co-ax indicator, I subscribe to another Ade aswell, AG Engineering. He found that when indicating something with a Co ax it was 14 thou out when he checked it with a finger dti. Might be worth doing a comparison test.

Gday Adrain, this project is looking very nice, I really like the look of the nuts, brilliant idea with the .1div, nice coaxial indicator, might have to add one to the "would like list", I don't have a list on paper, only in my mind, that way I don't picture the $ signs as I look down the page LOL, great video mate, thank you, cheers Matty

Hi Ade, love your vids. Just a little suggestion for you. At about 4:40 where you nipped up the clamp for the clock rod, if it’s a bit stiff to clamp then it may over-stress the threads especially as it’s into aluminium. Over time the threads might strip. If you have room for a slight saw cut along the left hand side of the hole the rod goes through, it might give it a bit more flex and require less torque through the screw / threads.

Hi Ade, this is going to be a very handy addition to the Mill well done.

Hi Ade, Nicely made & looks great. I made one of those squeese nuts for my little Seig SX3L's quill plate similar to yours, only made of mild steel. Pretty easy to make the squeese nut & save a lot of time moving it up n' down. Saving time means more time to get on with the job at hand. Cheers

Thanks Ade, great machining as usual. The quill plate looks great. You'll have Mr Warco Warren knocking on your door with an order. Jon's Workshop is looking good, I've subscribed and he even subscribed to my shockingly poor channel. Top bloke. Dean in Oxfordshire.

Hi Ade. Great tip for tapping in a lathe equipped with a DRO. I like the way you you've done high and low points at intervals to measure 0.1 of a MM in height adjustment. It will be a pleasure to use. Tony

Hi Ade,
Excellent work as always.
I’ve just finished your compound slide improvement so I’m about a year behind you. Fitting those brass plugs exhausted my expletive vocabulary but very pleased with the results. Working up the courage to go for the QCTP next.
Stay well.
Tony.
