On July 4, 2012, the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) announced the discovery of the Higgs Boson. The particle describes the missing piece of the puzzle that would give mass to the objects in the universe. Maclean's Magazine called its discovery "the biggest scientific achievement of a generation."

Join Dr. Koffas for a discussion on the importance of this elusive particle and the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) experiments that lead to its discovery.

Where: Wild Oat Café at 817 Bank Street.

When: Wednesday, Feb. 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The free 20-minute discussion will be followed by a question and answer session. The Science Café series takes place every second Wednesday until April 24, 2013.
