Incredible! I just decided to see if there were any interviews with Arthur Baker and now I find that he's doing a doc about the 808. I've thought about both doing interviews with people like Arthur who made all that music that I loved back in the 80's and even a doc about the 808. Thanks to this man's influence I bought mine back in '84 and still have it! And then I bought the first Ensoniq Mirage in hopes of doing vocal instruments like the tracks with Freeez. Can't wait to see the 808 doc!

Saw him today on Sónar+D today in Barcelona, talking about the movie which will be out later this year.  Inspiring guy!

Shame the interviews with the people at Roland didn't happen that would have been really interesting, great idea to hear the story from the manufacturer's side as well as the artists'.

It is indeed though it's now in storage along with that Mirage. Everything is samples on the computer now. I did take some pics recently and made some 808 T-shirts.

I also lived in Japan for a while back in the 90's and was thinking of trying to visit Roland and setting up interviews with the team that made the 808 (nicknamed "ya-o-ya" in Japanese referring to the numbers) but that didn't happen unfortunately.
