97 F-150 Drivetrain Vibration Project Solved

R&R of a driveshaft on a 1997 F-150 4WD Pickup truck. Replaced a worn out rear u-joint and replaced the front u-joint as well.

Cool idea with the camera dude! Im recent retired 35 yr ford tech...my 02 starting the same symptom now, binding u joints is where my intuition leads me! Hard to diag without a lift! Thanks. Im just gonna go throw 2 u joints at it. ( my other thought was torque convertor). After seein this, im sure my gut was right!!

My daily driver, same optioned truck only a 99, with 430K mis, just had it's rear joint begin that massive vibration at 35 mph.... It's amazing how long Ford's u joints last! Now, I have to wait for a thaw to replace.... miss my "knock around" truck with all this early snow.

Excellent diagnosis.
I have the same truck except its a 99.
I have a vibration under light acceleration and suspect the u-joint(s).
I think I better crawl under my truck after watching your video.

84' F150 I replaced motor mounts Trans mount both u joints and at 70mph the stick shakes intensely balanced tires too.

How did you get those great shots under the car while I was driving I assume you had to mount a GoPro or something? That might help me figure out what the heck is going on and why my 2000 - 2 Wheel Dr. expedition is giving me a vibration between 45 and 60 miles an hour, already changed both U joints? Thanks for any ideas

My 00'f150 4x4 vibes bad at hwy speeds. Im sure its u joints. Never dealt with a trans case and multi shafts. The rear shaft will simply slip out of the case i'm guessing, right? or do i have to drop the case. I haven't even looked under there or dealt with 4x4s, so my question may sound dumb.
