I bought a Xeon E5 2673v3 (12c/24t 2.4-3.2Ghz) that supports DDR3 and DDR4. Paired it with a DDR3 board, and DDR3 RAM is dirt cheap. You could also unlock full core turbo and have a 3.2Ghz 12 core CPU.
