Picked up my Model Y yesterday. The heat here is pretty bad during the summer, so i definitely need a roof shade. Also need some floor mats which is how i found your channel. Ordering the Tesmanian over the 3d as I really like the functionality of it covering under the seat part way. When i was cleaning out my trade in yesterday, the amount of just debris just under the front of the seat was fairly high even though I had weather tec mats in the truck. Those are generally hard to clean spots. The website has a 10% off code, but after seeing your video + code, I used that just so you get the credit as you put the effort forth which guided me to the product i wanted. :)

Good job getting those magnets centered in the roof. That would have drove me nuts if not close to perfectly centered. :)

Would recommend installing the reflective shade cover on the inside for better heat reduction. 👌

Summer that reflector should point outside and on winter you flip it so the heat Will be trapped better inside

Put the clips on the sunshade first! The clip part goes on the underside and the clip tabs on the top. Start the clip tabs at a 45 degree angle to the border, push in and twist so the tab is on the top, facing the glass roof. Model S. Remove the hat shelf and fold down the back seats, then feed in the shade from the trunk area. If you are installing the reflective shield, use 2 small binder clips to secure the shield on each end. Remove them just prior to sliding the clips between the glass and headliner. I used a tape measure to determine the center, left/right for the suction cups. Then I put the cups at the 1/3 and 2/3 front to back points. Putting a little bit of saliva on the cups will help them stay on longer. I then used a black marking pen to cover up the silver logo on the left front edge of the shade.

Thanks for the video, I'm about to install mine and this was helpful.
I'm still in winter right now so I'm hoping it helps keep the heat in by having the reflective side facing into the cabin. Glad to hear (no pun intended) it also helps with cabin noise, that's a huge bonus.
Of course I lose the view out of the roof, but I haven't been using that often. Maybe in the fall for leaf season, or if we take a road trip to a city.

I have one that looks exactly like that that I bought off Amazon, my sunroof is not tinted at all, and according to the engineers, it should be tinted. No instructions like you said., luckily, another TESLA owner help me put it on🙏🏻 I’ll leave it on you around because I have no help to put it on

Aug 12, 2022, I just received my tesla sunshade that I ordered from the tesla web site and it does not come with magnets or the silver sunshade.
