He’s the #1-ranked Basset in the world in agility competitions.

There is no #2.

I live in rural Illinois, and someone dumped a male Bassett down the road away from the house. My wife and I took him in . What a dog! Stubborn..my gosh he could stare down a Missouri mule. He had a wonderful personality and just loved it when we took walks in the woods. That nose determined the direction he was going. He was a amazing dog. I miss Ole Sherman.

If anyone's ever known a basset hound they know getting him to do anything on command is impressive in itself

This was actually an incredible performance for a basset. My late buddy Bernie would have just sniffed around and tried to visit people in the crowd.

The back wiggle on the floor before he agreed to start was the sign of a true professional.🦊

Wisely takes his time in the weave so he doesn’t tie himself in a knot.

The amount of time and treats took to get a basset hound to do this must have been huge. .

This dog gets an A for effort. This video is a perfect metaphor for what it feels like to be over 50. I felt like I was watching my life's enthusiasm play out as a dog.

The fact that this competition is about the dogs having fun just as much as it is about the fastest and most athletic competing makes this worth watching.

He’s so chilled about the whole thing…
“Yeah ok..you want me to run here and jump over that..ok sure”

As a former Bassett owner (rip Sophie..still love ya) I half expected him to just lay down half way through.

5 years later. He's probably still napping back enough energy to bark at the wall for no reason.

😂🤣👏👍❤️❤️❤️❤️Shortly after my dad passed away at just 58, my mom bought a puppy that she thought was a beagle. Then Sophia began to grow, and grow and grow and it was clear Sophie was not a beagle but a basset! A giant basset! We all called her SOFA instead of Sophie. But mom and grandma (who came to live with her) adored that beast of a dog! ❤️❤️❤️

He is the "Eddie the eagle" in the world of agility. Not the slightest chance to win, but a win for the audience nontheless.

LOL, it never ceases to amaze me watching these dogs run the course. Diesel does all the obstacles correctly, & seems to really enjoy it, but he ain’t in a big hurry is he? Winning ain’t everything! 💖🏆

DIESEL
Though he may never win first place,
Diesel gives his all in every race.
He's the picture of perfection and grace,
Of course, at a moderate pace.
And just look at that face🥰

I like the way the hurdles for a basset hound are like 4 inches off the ground
