How to re-stucco patching mistakes or failures.
Folks, we are located in Oakland, Ca.

Howdy Folks, all the basic tools we use and recommend on Amazon's website.
Kirk Giordano Plastering Inc.

Hello, my friends; in this simple repair, we show how to fix a noticeable wrong stucco texture around a new window by skim coating over the old finish.
First, we clean the existing painted stucco texture and apply a bonding agent.
I chose Larson’s Weld-Crete as it's blue, which means I can see it.
When the bonding agent dries.
We then used a finish plaster as the sand is the same and skim coated around the entire perimeter, going over the texture that decent matches.
We then apply a new texture, ensuring the transition is unnoticeable while toweling on a closer-looking surface to match the original one.
As a rule, all plasterers have a slightly different trowel pattern. Fingerprint.
The trick or technique is to get as close to the existing as possible. Thus when pated, it blends in.

We used La Habra’s medium sand base for this new texture, as plasterers know as 20/30 sand.

Thank you for watching.

I love what you do and I'm not very knowledgeable about stucco. It seems like the edge between your beautiful stucco work and the owner's is super obvious. Will that go away when it dries and/or is painted? Thanks for sharing your knowledge. All the best!

Mornin kind sirs impressive great ace mud and lensman work. I use funny trowels too on handjive, and my margin trowel is pointy from use. My 1969 A3 mobil 2 banger handcrank airswitch antique obsolete high box qwikfill mongrel mutt tommy babydoll shacker with reconfigured sweet cannibalized 3 sack essex color bowl mixer, has spark issues now but never let me down always pumped awesome. The wind on my neck and head or in my face turning a corner is rough. Beanys bandanas windbrwakers and hoodys help. Almost makes us miss the 90s, or 100+ in the shade season.. Be well from Wildomar..505383 . PS..i avoid home cheapo and blowes like the plague preferring old school yardman style too

Good man Kirk. I was patching a wee floor, and I rubbed it with an ole wet bag, to match the last fellow who used the back of the real Micheal angelo jerb for sure....bit of a thrist and drew the floor out on the counter at the pub with a bit of beer to show the boys the tasty work . By the way this is a load of Larsen's

I truly appreciate all these videos Kirk and team. I've looked for my answer but cannot seem to find it. I have a 1950s home with layers of stucco, paint, more stucco, and more paint - with top layers of paint and stucco now chipping off. Contractor A wants to sandblast down to the brown coat and restucco. Contractor B wants to power wash, then apply glue, fiberglass mesh, and then stucco. They seem like 2 very different approaches. What would you do?

Why no expansion joints? Here in Mo Effis is prime but every window or doors needs expansion, but Cali is a whole new ball game. Love your channel bro. I know you have videos describing all things stucco. Take it easy Kirk.
