but horse racing is too dangerous.
When you ride a horse, it’s peaceful, relaxing and you can have a bond with an animal.
Betting on an innocent animal is wrong though because they do die

Horse racing is a sport that enables horses to exist and progress as a species. Of course, it has risk - to both
horse and rider - but so does any endeavour in life. That said, the word "abuse" needs to be met head on.
It suggests wilful ill-treatment and that is not the case in such a costly sport. Indeed, just who, with an
interest, either through employment or participation, or as a spectator of a thrilling spectacle, would suffer
any such treatment of the valuable animals involved. Those who fall below that bar of behaviour have no
sympathy or tolerance from the genuine spirit that seeks a life enjoying a historically famous sport and
deserve all that their egregious conduct deserves. Horses are not pets, they are animals that have a place
in the world alongside the rest of us. A final thought: have you ever tried to get a horse to do something
not to its liking? And that includes thoroughbred horses who race because it is in their blood.

Hunting and fishing I find are ok with moderation to niche of the ecosystem, but this bad, pushing a creature to its limits and killed off when not useful anymore

I don't think the public understands how horse racing works. It's not like running sports, where if you fall down, you get back up. A fall in a race means death.

Start off with hay, oats and water. Add some alfalfa as a treat. Ban painkillers. LASIX is a maybe, because it stops bleeding, but that's it. Trainers use various chemicals/supplements to pack on muscle, then the horse is TOO HEAVY for their own legs to hold them. This leads to leg breakage and death on the track. Racing doesn't have to be the way it is.

I went to a Red Mile horse race and a horse ran from the gates and a race got delayed and a few races later a horse got their leg broke by the gates and got put down and this incident did not stop me from loving horse racing. I knew because I overheard an employee saying that horse got put down.

I have never enjoyed horse racing, in is equivalent to dog fighting in my mind.
These little people need to get off their high horse and run themselves. That would be comical. Why cant PETA do something.
