Heh, I am a 59 Year Old man, and I have only owned, or used, a manual transmission only. I refer to the manual transmission a "Passive Anti-Theft Device".

My current car is a 1999 Toyota Corolla, I bought it new, and I payed the dealer in CA$H, and got a {heck} of a discount!

I guess there is no Tesla supercharging network in the African countries where these stolen vehicles end up.

I drove 3 different cars over 39 years that had a manual transmission. Now i drive a 22 accord. No stick shift available.

I would love to get a manual transmission, but they are so hard to find anymore.

The defender is not stolen because the thief is afraid it will break down before they get away

Manual transmission cars can still be stolen. I haven’t driven a manual in 15/16 years but I can drive one. I may be slow, but I can get it out fast enough.

I had an 84 Ford Escort that I could park anywhere, it was absolutely glued to the pavement. What thief would be caught dead driving an Escort? Thieves apparently feel the same way about electric cars and many overseas buyers see electric cars as what they are, a mistake. An over priced impractical nerdmoble. The low resale value of electric cars reveals their true value. Electric cars are disposable unrecyclable cars with hazardous waste batteries which will turn scrapyards into toxic waste dumps.

Great video! Fun stats. Another criteria to consider. Discounting Tesla, looks like a stick shift Volvo SUV is a good bet.

After watching a bunch of car vid son quality, theft, etc I'm so happy with my Mazda CX-3...

It's a interesting list. I could definitely see why a thief might have a lack of enthusiasm in lifting one of them. Ranging from the mentioned layers of anti theft to the just plain ugly. Happy to report all of my cars are more desirable.

Hey Shari! I take comfort that my next vehicle (as well as my current car) qualifies for this list since they're both manual transmissions.
If possible, it would be great to get your impressions on the 2024 Acura Integra Type S .
Thanks for your excellent videos! Fabulous content!

All vehicles should have a security PIN option like Tesla. Getting notifications about tampering or lurking around your is also helpful.

I have the IGLA installed. You have to weigh the risk and inconvenience of getting your vehicle stolen vs any denial of warranty claim as low as that may be. The IGLA though very expensive buys you peace of mind.

Once you look at insurance rates, it tells the story, and exactly why I have a 2024 trailblazer.

I purposely bought a 20 year old Nissan Frontier pick up truck in an excellent condition that has a 5 speed manual transmission. I removed that shifter knob that had the shift pattern on it and replaced it with a smooth knob. No one in my family can operate a manual shirt and it's clutch, so it NEVER gets "borrowed"... 😅

I am glad you mentioned manual transmissions as an anti theft device it's totally analog at stops car thief's in there tracks and we have only one car stolen many years ago and it was manual we got the car back and we fitted an emboliser to it but l own an extremely anolog 1997 Toyota Hilux and it is manual and l love driving it and l have owned manual and automatic cars but the best deterent to car thefts is analog mechanical devices also EVs who would want to steel an EV

Some of these models have very high depreciation that makes resale less profitable.

Yes then most would not know how to start my Austin 3ton truck no door locks but then how many in this age know what a crank handle is or what a mechanical spark advance is or how to switch fuel from kerosene to petrol for start up

All of these are so undesirable, of course no one would want to steal them (Except for the rare manual transmission)! If I could get a manual on anything, I would. I'm not interested in ANY new car, except perhaps the Mazda MX5 and it MUST be a manual! My dream car is an 'old' C6 Z06 Corvette in really nice shape, and yes- it only comes with a 6spd manual.

Aren't manual transmission more popular in Europe?
