Linux Itch - Time to Get Back Into Linux!

Getting the Linux itch again! Shall I put some *nix videos back in the mix for future videos?

Linux video and text tutorials sounds like a fun way to help jump-start PC-Addicts!
It’s been a long time since I produced any Linux video tutorials. Yesterday at work, I was working with a third-party vendor installing CentOS for some software the hospital purchased.

I was watching the support person maneuver all around in the terminal, including editing files via VI and I totally wanted to take over and start working in it myself.

So, I thought I would wake up early this morning (ya, about 2:00AM is when I got up LOL) and put the question out there to all of you.

Getting the Linux itch!

So my question to all of you is: Should I throw a few Linux videos in the mix of all the upcoming Windows Server / Active Directory video tutorials? It won’t overtake the Windows Server type videos since that is hugely asked about here on PC-Addicts, but maybe we can integrate a couple Linux servers within the domain for some scenarios.

Definitely Linux stuff. I am trying to get full into Linux. Not only do I dual boot with Mint. But play around with CentOS when I think about it. Been trying to get out of mechanic industry and into IT. I see a some of the better prospects looking for Linux experience while most places that seem to be call center hamster wheels want general MS stuff. I do not want to get stuck in that hamster wheel. Can't afford to take that $$ hit anyway. Been trying to talk to many people to get an idea on what I should learn to be proficient at with CentOS.

Do a video on how "Windows", "Linux" and "Mac OS" fits into your life style. I'm sure you use the three of these OS's. That being said, show us how these 3 OS's fit into your life style and for what purposes do you use them!

Linux hasn't changed much over the years in regards to the basic commands. If you are thinking of going from beginner level to advanced it would be worthwhile I believe. If the tutorials only cover basics like (ls, mkdir, rm, cd, cat, awk, sed) then it might not be worth your time as there are several videos already on this subject. If you delve in from beginning and outline a nice training that slowly but reasonably advances, it will not only help you but help others follow along. I don't personally have any Linux videos or any videos on YouTube, but I would be happy to help you create an outline training program if you go down that path. I already put a lot of information together on this topic while working towards my Linux+. Good luck man. I look forward to whatever you do.

Hi, I'm a Ubuntu user trying to use the Internet and Kodi for RVing across the good old USA. I'm always trying to streamline it. I have limited resources on my Dell laptop, Pentium duo core, 3 GB ram, 150 HD. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. My INTERNET is very limited using wifi w/alfa antenna extension. I'm running Ubuntu 15.10.
