We're going to ICELAND in February 2022 and we want YOU to come with us! With ice caves and mountain vistas abound, this winter adventure crosses many of Iceland's dramatic landscapes. You'll hike across glaciers, explore lava fields, and eat like a Viking on this 7-day exploration. Don't forget about the Northern Lights! Pack your camera and your warmest jacket and get ready for the trip of a lifetime with us!

Pointing is the main focus on the barn right now, before summer arrives and it's too warm to point which will cause the lime mortar to dry out too fast. It's a long, slow process but will be worth it to transform the exterior of the barn and also add protection from the elements.

Thank you so much Gina from @OKportugal for all your advice on our broody hen and imminent chicks!

Theo and Bee gave up their busy city lifestyles in 2014 to explore alternative living, and have lived in vans and boats since then without looking back! Along with their cat Ginjey Bear they have been driving around the world in their self converted Sprinter van. However, when the global pandemic hit they began converting their abandoned stone barn in Central Portugal to turn into a wonderful tiny stone cottage. Along the way, they have rescued a playful cat called Furrnando and have a wonderful flock of Chickens!

If stones could talk... they would most certainly be singing your praises for the love and attention to detail that you're putting in transforming a sad, neglected barn into a lovely cottage that you can surely be proud of calling home! Absolutely awesome workmanship, the both of you!

Fruit crates are great for Longterm vegetables storage in your future Root cellar. Pumpkins and Potatoes onions and what. Great for air movement. Wood breathes. Great score.

Don’t be too worried about a limping Gingy. She still rolling around in the dirt. I’ve got a sixteen year old tabby (Mittsie) who limps along but still feisty and the queen bee. Her nemesis, a four year old Siamese male kitty has learned to give her wide berth. She is still the ruler of the house. It’s hard to see them get old...but they teach us grace and tenacity. Love all the progress you two have been making. Your smile at the end tells it all!😘

Hello from Tennessee USA, I thought I would share the best tip I ever got for taking care of animals and occasionally a husband. For any kind of wound pat sugar onto the area. You can wrap it but I find it's easier to do this outside and just keep it on as long as possible, it's a little messy. Can help stop bleeding, it helps with debridement of the wound, if it's dirty or older, has disinfectant properties and is antibacterial. And it really does help heal wound faster. You can do it once or until you think it's drying up and looking better, once or twice a day is fine. We've used this on cats, dogs, and birds for years. This is easy treatment until you make it to the vet or if it's something minor since you live so far from the city. Good luck kids, we enjoy watching you.

Follow the sun to point the walls... mornings at the sun, shadow wall when sun is to damm hot😉

Bea and Theo ~ your smiles are a lifeline to true humanity... smiling through the trials, smiling because you somehow know things will be alright as you keep on keeping on...

OMG, the chickens looking out the window of their coup @24:00 is so stinkin' cute. The pointing is 'the cherry on top", it's beautiful. So happy to see Gingy liberated from the bonds of the cone. 😸

Get yourself a grout and mortar bag. Works like a charm and easily cleaned.

That house will show your love from the smallest rock to the biggest. Your work is amazing Theo, but Bea is doing an amazing job with the wood inside. The crates are an awesome ideo. Love to see your progress in the middle of the week. Hope gingie gets better. See you sunday.🤗♥️

My late husband, Gary, had hands as big as Theo's. His shoe size was 13DD US. I don't know if you can get them in Europe, but Gary always wore Red Wing shoes and boots. He LOVED his steel toed, lace up work boots. In 27.5 years of marriage, he only bought two pairs of boots. He wore them almost daily, a testimony to their quality.
Theo, you are doing a fantastic job. By the time you finish your home, you will truly be a master craftsman.
