The problem is that freezing something is removing heat, that means that while it’s freezing that piece of water it’s heating the rest and just moving the energy. Yes ice reflects sunlight, etc. It’s still quite stupid and a waste of resources and energy.

Anyone who has heard of 3 laws of thermodynamics should know this "invention" is a total BS. It's just a concept art from a designer with no grasp on middle school level science.

and this ladies and gentlemen is a great place to tech an engineering concept. the difference between AM and FM solutions. now AM solutions means actual machines, basically its a term for when the design you are showing off is made of real stuff that already exists. the alternative FM, is Fucking Magic, for when you use a computer graphics program to "invent" a sleek shiny new machine which doesn't actually exist and is decades away from even starting to exist. unfortunately for the built environment AM solutions are boring and not very flashy, fucking magic solutions however like Hyperloop are very flashy and interesting even though they don't exist and are mostly lies for money.

The melting ice isn't what's raising the sea level, it's the warming of the water. If you heat water it expands and takes up more volume so for the amount of water already in the oceans that is what's mainly causeing the sea level rise
