ABBA was an accidental supergroup. All four had successful careers in the music business. Agnetha as a singer/songwriter who had her first hit in Sweden at age 17. Björn was the lead singer, guitarist and main songwriter of a skiffle group, the Hootenanny Singers, who had several hits in Sweden and did fairly well in Germany and the Netherlands. Benny played keyboards in the Hep Stars, Sweden’s most popular rock group of the 1960’s and wrote songs for them. Frida started singing with a jazz band at age 14 and later won a televised song contest. Björn and Benny ran into eachother all the time as their bands often played the same venues and hit it off. They became friends and decided to start writing songs together. At the same time Björn had met Agnetha and Benny had met Frida, also through their work in the music business. As the guys started working together they needed some backing vocals and asked their girlfriends to help them. They then did a couple of shows together, all four, and the rest is history. The guys wrote really good songs and while both girls could really sing great, when they sing together it becomes pure magic.

In Vietnam, ABBA was the first and most famous Western band we heard on public speakers broadcasting to the whole town. Every child on the street was dancing to the music while playing football. Fast forward 50 years, and I still listen to their music when I am feeling down

It was a huge hit in Denmark when I graduated from high-school in 1974. It played at all the parties (and there were so many) we had, i think 10. Such a great time to recall.

This is just ridiculously adorable. Loved Agnetha telling us about Bjorn's costume being so tight he had to stand on the couch. 🤣😂 I so wish I could see Voyage, unfortunately I live in the USA and can't afford to travel. Those who are blessed to be able to go, enjoy it for the rest of us fans! 🥰

🎉 ABBA 50....the world celebrates....l have loved them for 50 years....Only the greatest group ever. I will be going to Stockholm and London in June 2024 for ABBA celebrations. Greetings from coastal Mississippi 😂

Wow, those ABBAtars are amazing. I've seen some stills where they just don't look quite right (Agnetha and Bjorn mainly). They seem to be absolutely perfect here. That Voyage show must be amazing if this is how they are now!
