I might have missed the reason why you cut the curb in half. Was this to resize it?

I've torn out and replaced so many of these Schluter/Kerdi/Ditra showers. Keep up the good work!

Thin-set is not water proof. This will eventually leak under the curb between the floor membrane and curb membrane

Why using a expensive curb? To waste whrn you going to use waterproof membrane?
If the membrane is a water proof then you can use durock/2x4.?
Right?
Only the Caulking may cost like $30.

Red guard is my favorite way to waterproof. It’s messy but I’ve had great luck.

Don’t do this people. I’m in tile restoration and this is a bad idea. You do not want grout lines for the top of curb. Once that grout cracks, your screwed. But if u use epoxy grout, then your fine. Good luck finding a installer.

I use cut-offs from the shower tray . Usually i stack the piece on the tray itself.. 2" tall curbs. Low entry

The board is so expensive.. Old school way so much easier is easier 1/2 the money.. I don't know how you can stay in business with such high high prices of materials

Block or formed concrete will ALWAYS be far superior.

Can’t get on board with these roll membranes, I foresee a nice fat class action in the future on these things, all you need is a pin prick hole and your dependent on glue? Mortar as your waterproofed for that? Red guard, visible coverage liquid applied. Sometimes the old ways are best.

Or no curb, barrierless are nice especially for older folks .

We don't have this product in Australia... we use Villaboard cement sheet 6 or 9mm, mud screed, and waterproofing membrane 3x coats with all the corner taping etc.

This Schluter Kerdi system is only foam, and I've seen it absorb moisture and leak very very quickly unless done perfectly.

Is this the common practice now in the US for all wet areas??

I need to find a quality tile guy for my bathroom. Not just a guy who can slap it down, hell I can do that.
