Bro! That shower is going to leak like crazy without any walls!!

You needed to put a morter/sand mixture before you put your liner down and slope it towards the drain so that the water will move to the drain. that's really important, if not the water's not going to drain properly. Note: I was wrong on the mixture being put down BEFORE the liner. I was wrong. I helped put my shower floor in and forgot in what order we did it. My apologies!

I’m a tile contractor and i do new shower pans all the time. This method works but it’s so old school and no matter how good you fold those corners the base of the tile wall always bows out. I have been using pre sloped and pre waterproofed pans made from high density foam. The brand I use most is Schluter. Still have to do some waterproofing once pan is secured but it’s tile ready.

The shower floor should be sloped prior to installation the rubber liner. If not the pan will hold water and mold. And mold. And mold.

I usually use a scrap piece of 2x4 to define the corners .looks good 👍

Save yourself time, and worry. Get a prefab pan and curb from schluter or any of the other brands. You can’t go wrong

Dont use pvc glue for this application oatey make a glue just for shower pans.

How are you holding tile on the curb? Cement board and screws here's your leak couple years later

well done … i worked as a tile setters helper for a few years as a young man and i can set simple layouts but ive dry packed countless shower pans professionally and you nailed it for sure ! after we finished the pan, we would plug the weep holes in the drain & mark a water line and fill it up to that point & let it sit overnight to check for leaks before adding dry pack mortar

Don't listen to these people, this will work for about 10 yrs give or take a few. The only legit criticism ive seen is the sloping for proper drainage, and my 2 cents would be much more silicone around the drain, 6-8" of the entire outer radius. However, you could've got 2 birds with 1 foam covering the entire cement floor. Regardless, doing it yourself is always better than hiring out, even if you get it wrong the first time.

I would recommend not using a wood curb. Instead pour/ form a concrete or Sand/ concrete mix form w/ a single piece of #3 pencil rebar. For those anal retentive clients, epoxy coat the rebar prior to placing in the pour/ mix and dowel the ends into the ends of the framing . The pan material is fold up into the middle of the form and cut about 3/4" below the top of the pour."
Your method now will require to apply durrock on the sides and top of the curb and now srewing durrock screws thru your pan material. Even applying a waterproof coating, its not 100% waterproof. They sometimes fail over time.

Looks good. One thing I’ve learned is to always use care when making your folds as to not make them too thick. That throws out your cement board and your walls won’t be perfectly plumb and square

If it starts to leak, it will be from staple clips, and the liner should be about 2-3 ft from floor to sides of the walls to avoid leakage. Also, make sure you use silicone sealer. 😊

You could use pressure treated wood for the base, it would give you longer warranty for floor base.

Looks good but test it to make sure with a blow up ball. I like how you put the dog ears by the curb and the pre-fab corners are more than needed for a rectangle shower but whatever. The corners are used when you have to cut an inside corner and that’s when I try to get them to sluder the shower and then the liability is on the tile guy.😀

That's nice man the only thing I would suggest is on the outside of that curb you should have brought that membrane a few inches over it would help to waterproof the outside of that curb

Osi quad the floor corners and edges, Red gaurd, then mud pack, then red gaurd again. No need for the liner any more. Much better for cleaner tile lay.

Close, but sorry that will leak. I'm a long time pro & tile teacher. If you do an overnight water test filled up to curb level as you should, it will immediately teach you how you need to fold & glue corners better. I promise that leaks. Also needs a preslope to drain the mud so the pan doesn't stink in a couple years from saturated lower mud

It also looked like he had Doug fir wood on concrete instead of pressure treated lumber. Dryrot forsure. And yes you should have used mortar to create a slope to your weep holes on the Caspar drain fitting

If it doesn't leak then you did fine. Best of luck with rest of your project 😊
