I like how the writers of the current MCU don't have to explain literally anything since their fans will just create the explanations themselves.

Marvel writers: "umm ya, ya, uh, yes yes, this was the..uh...reason..thanks!"

I don’t mind the fact the vision could take on Thanos, my only big problem was throughout this entire Season they’ve showed thanos being treated like a champ. I just wish they could’ve made it a bit more of a fight. You can still have him lose but just put a little more respect on the man’s name and remind everyone why he was the big bad of the MCU for a long time.

I also would like to point out with all the heroes doing their own thing, Thanos didn't really have anyone to 'practice' on. So perhaps he wasn't even familiar with the stones quite yet.

Because ULTRON only had a 30 minute window to tell his story but VISION (& the Avengers) had 240+ minutes to tell their story😉

I'm not taking this at all. This was an inconsistency and a power scaling error . In Age of Ultron the combined blast of Iron Man, Thor and Vision could not even Rip a single Ultron body in half. It was just too easy in What If

Vision: “I am on the side of Life, Ultron isn’t. He will end it all.”

Ultron has that Killer Instinct while Vision still holds back.

Thanos let’s his guard down when he expects to talk so the first strike is the best chance against him.

I guess you could say that Vision didn't have the right MIND to put Thanos under balance.

Yes! Ultron got the drop on Thanos, and Ultron has no morals. Perhaps a second too soon and they would've fought.

In addition, as soon as Ultron sees the other Infinity Stones he exclaims *_"Fascinating!"_* — it is possible right there at that moment, he became aware of what the other stones are capable of and doesn't spare one second with pointless monologue. His intention is to be quick and lethal.

I think what makes the infinity stones dangerous isn't their power but their user... Ultron's use of the infinity stones shows that he was even a better user than Thanos...

i just figured that Ultron, since he doesn't care about preserving life, he just used 100% power of the mind stone to slice Thanos, an organic being appearing out of nowhere, and then investigated the gems afterwards.
while Vision because he wants to preserve life doesn't use his full power, knowing that he could easily kill, but he wants to learn and live like the humans do.

Ultron was intelligent/informed enough to know that Thanos had to be eliminated quickly...Thanos was unaware of Ultron, if he were he would have never given him the chance

They just didn't want to have to do a fight between Thanos and Ultron on finite time that's why Thanos was one shotted

Just like, why didn't Nebula stop Quill from punching Thanos?

I feel like Thanos getting cut in half was more for the plot. Thanos reacted in split second against star lord and loki. Ultron’s blast wasn’t any faster.

Also, Ultron in MCU is an AI directly created from the mind stone, while Vision's AI is constructed with Jarvis as the main component. I would expect Ultron would be a better fit to manipulate the mind stone to generate more power, etc.

One of the first things Ultron did using all the stones at once (since all started glowing), was create an army of his own species.
Would be interesting to see other villains or heros try that out lol

Thanos just standing there getting split in two is another case of a character who is supposed to be brilliant, but acts dumb/recklessly to advance the plot. He should have known and planned to encounter him at least making the fight more interesting.

Suri had also been working on removing the stone from Vision so who knows what powers he had left, its very possible he couldn't even use the stone anymore.
