Ten Segment Display Idea

When searching YouTube for 1970s-era displays, there was a video* of a unit with an "alien font" from the Soviet Union with 8 segments -- I figured that if two segments were added, the letters of the (English) Alphabet could be represented without too much compromise, including the letters M, W, and N, for a perfect element to a Cassette Futurism scene.

Wow a display that actually has a good M and W! To make S and Z different from 5 and 2, you could probably take away the straight lines from S and Z and it’s still be clear enough.

TY all! This video topped 100K views just today (Dec 22 2023) and completely surpassed all my other projects. This shows me where my audiences is as far as what people are interested in, and also not relying on voice narration that can't translate into different languages like text can. I need to learn about creating subtitles for translation, like those videos from Japan with the ferries and intercity bus excursions. :-) Looking forward to 2024!

The 6 can be improved if you use the bottom left segment and the 9 can be improved using the top right segment, also the 4 can be improved with the top right too and you can make the 7 wider if you replace the bottom middle segment with the bottom right segment

was just looking at the new 'Teenage Engineering EP 133 K.O. II' and the segmented display is very similar using three of these plus two periods for timekeeping.

connect the middle line and you got a 9 segment display, 7 and Y can easily be redesigned

Mistakes:
5 and S look the same
2 and Z look the same
