I think this shows very well why Rem is the better choice. They both help each other, they take each other out of the hard times. They do things together.

On the other hand, Subaru does everything for Emilia, but she doesn't do much for Subaru. Not that she has to, she has her own life to take care of, but because of that, it doesn't feel like she's a better match than Rem.
