La historia toma lugar durante la repetición en la que Rem muere debido a la maldición de la mabestia, Ram lo persigue pero termina sobreviviendo gracias a la ayuda de Beatrice. Debido a la muerte de sus sirvientas sumado al rechazo de Emilia en participar en la Elección Real, Rosswaal se degenera y Subaru, junto a Puck, planean sacar a Emilia de la mansión. Subaru tiene a Cecilus y Hallibel como sus subordinados y es el primero que se encarga de eliminar a Roswaal, mientras que Subaru se encarga personalmente de matar a Beatrice. Mientras tanto, Frederica pelea contra Puck, pero ella termina siendo perdonada y se la llevan con ellos para que trabaje como su sirvienta.

Subaru se vuelve el jefe de la organización "Pléyades" con su base situada en el borde de Kararagi, matando personas que se oponen a él. El método que usa para decidir si alguien vive o muere se basa en el lanzamiento de una moneda. Mientras tanto, Emilia vive en un cuarto altamente vigilado junto a Puck.

Un día, Lugnica descubre que Subaru estaba detrás de la muerte de Roswaal, así que ellos envían a Reinhard, junto a un grupo de caballeros, para matarlo usando a un mercader (probablemente Otto) para que simule su visita como una de negocios.

Reinhard ataca la base de Pléyades, pero es incapaz de matar a Subaru debido a que el ya atestiguó su poder en el almacén, así que el pone defensas en su trono. Hallibel escapa con Subaru mientras que Cecillus pelea con Reinhard. Él quiere alcanzar la "espada celestial" y creé que derrotando al actual Santo de la Espada es la manera de lograrlo.
En su camino de escape Frederica intenta asesinar a Subaru, pero ella falla. Él decide perdonarle la vida (supuestamente ella es quien filtró la localización de Pléyades a Lugnica) y le muestra las marcas de los dedos de Ram en su cuello y le ordena a Hallibel tomar a Frederica y huir con ella. Luego de eso es apuñalado por el mercader.

En otro lugar, Emilia deja su cuarto junto a Puck y encuentra a Reinhard, pero ella decide ponerse del lado de Subaru sin importarle que él haya sido el responsable de 126702 muertes y se enfrenta al Santo junto a Puck*.

Luego de eso, Emilia encuentra a Subaru y trata de convencerlo de huir con ella, pero él se opone a esa idea. Es entonces que ella le dice que esta dispuesta a morir junto a él. Sin embargo, esto lo hace desconfiar de ella y la abandona. Entonces, el se dirige a su oficina, en esta, hay un cuarto se secreto detrás de una librería donde tiene a Ram (si no me equivoco, en este punto se revela que estaba viva) encadenada y es entonces, donde él permite que ella lo mate.

There are some small details in the novel that remind Ram to be imprisoned by Subaru all the time.

For anyone wondering, this is the Wrath Route written by the Author of Re:Zero. Here is a small summary I made of the Wrath Route Novel


This takes place in episode 7 when Subaru saw Rem dead and Ram was trying to kill him. As Subaru run towards the cliff he actually never jump in the Wtath Route. It started to snow (due to Emilia) and Ram started Struggling Subaru but because she had used her powers she then got immobilized before she could kill Subaru. At that moment Subaru got up and took a rock the size of a head and smashed Ram's head with it. After that he left Lugunica and headed for Vollacia (another country). After 1 year he returns to the mansion, this time he had brought someone with him. It was one of Vollacia's strongest fighters Cecilus. Cecilus faught Roswaal but because Roswaal had lost his will to live, he didn't fight back so he died at the hand of Cecilus. He visited Beatrice and Betty asked him if he was "they", Subaru replied saying he is "they" and killed Beatrice, she knew she would die but she was happy about it (NOTE: "they" will be something that will happen in season 2). Then he abducted Emilia and took a maid of the Roswaal mansion with him (the made will appear in season 2 and her name is Frederica). In Subaru's eyes the world had lost all color, it was black and white, because he could no longer trust anyone who's feelings change. Because in the beginning he trusted Rem but then she killed him, that made Subaru have trust issues and he could only trust those who's feelings never change. Subaru became known throughout all the countries as the [Purge King], he alongside a lot of powerful fighters from all countries formed an organization. Subaru kept Emilia locked in a basement of his hideout. He would visit her every 7 or 10 days, the days on when he visited her he would sleep on her lap and that was the only time he ever slept, meaning he slpet only once every seven or ten days. Emilia when she was first taken by Subaru she was really angry at him but after some time she accepted that because she realised that for the first time someone needed her. Now let's go back to Subaru, because he didnt trust anyone, not even his comrades, he only trusted fate. That's why every time he made deals with people he would toss a coin and depending on which side it landed, it would indicate if the other person would live or not, everytime someone died he made Frederica (the maid that will appear in Season 2) clean everything, she was disgusted by that but she couldn't say no to Subaru. Then Reinhard appeared, He started fighting Subaru's comrades and then reached Subaru. When Reinhard saw Subaru was the [Purge King] he couldn't believe his eyes, then Subaru told Reinhard that he has also lost his colors. At that moment Cecilus appeared to fight Reinhard and then Subaru ran away but he was stabbed by Otto. When Subaru Returned by Death he chose a different way to escape. Then he saw Emilia had escaped, he asked her what happened. She tells him that after she broke down the door (Subaru had made it so if Emilia wanted to escape, she would be the only one to break that door) she started running down the corridor when he heard a voice, it was Reinhard. Reinhard told Emilia that he was happy she was ok and that he came there to rescue her, at that moment Emilia realized she needed Subaru, they had become something like drugs to each other, Emilia needed Subaru no matter what and Subaru needed Emilia. Reinhard told Emilia that everything she was talking about was nonsense, he told her that Subaru wasn't the Subaru they knew anymore, he had killed 120.000+ people! Puck then attacked Reinhard giving Emilia enough time to escape and that's how she got outside and found Subaru. When Subaru saw Emilia outside he realized something, Emilia had colors, unlike his world and everyone else who had lost their colors, Emilia had them. Subaru and Emilia started to Chat, she told Subaru that they need to run away now and that they should go somewhere together far away, at that moment Subaru couldn't believe what he was hearing, causing Emilia to lose her colors in Subaru's eyes. She lost her colors because she was supposed to hate Subaru for taking her away and locking her, but she now loved him. She lost her color because her feeling changed and Subaru couldn't trust someone who's feelings change, so he ran away. While he was running he heard a distant shout, it was Emilia voice telling Subaru something but he didn't hear what she said. Subaru run and run until he reached a Room. Inside that room was a girl chained up but she was a girl with color. It was Ram, she had maintained her colors because her feelings towards Subaru never changed, she always hated Subaru. And so Subaru died at her hands.


It doesn't say what happens after Subaru dies in this one, it's up to you to decide!

1:29 is my favorite part, ranging from the awesome part of the song with Reinhard coming in to take out Subaru, followed up in the next shot where you see Cecilus's eye gleaming with excitement to take on Reinhard. Also I never noticed till now, but behind Reinhard you could actually see Subaru's eyes
