I gained a ton of respect for Lewis after this. The way he handled it was world class. We all know max would still be crying.

Both Lewis and his Dad were so class, congratulated Max and his Dad straight away.

To Lewis, this was number 8, To Max, this was whether or not he'll make anything of his career

Whatever integrity there was in F1, died that night.

Today winning at Silverstone and by seeing his reactions means it was more than a win it let him in some way let go of one the most disgusting decisions in motoracing and he finally put that moment behind his back, all left to do is him win 8th championship and let justice be done...

He was winning the race comfortably. If all the cars passed or none of them did, he still would have won. But of course they only let the cars in front of max pass, the one solution that would rob Lewis of the title. Masi is a fool.

people talk about abu dhabi but they forgot about silverstone 2021, as if that also wasn't a robbery

did hamilton deserve to win abu dhabi? absolutely, but let's not one of the reasons he managed to close the gap to verstappen was because of silverstone 2021, thus making the abu dhabi robbery a bigger deal than it would've been

That was disgraceful. Lewis is the real champ.

It wasn’t RB’s fault or Max’s fault but Lewis was robbed. It’s hard to argue against it.

I can't remember who but someone said something like "each year there has to be a first but only a few of them are world champions" and I think this video shows that Lewis is clearly one of the few real champions. Most of the other drivers including Max would still be crying about this and saying in every media they were robbed but Lewis never did so. Huge respect for him, he's a true World Champion

Barely a day has passed since without this popping into my head at least once. Despite being the victim of such an injustice, the way Lewis and his dad handled themselves in the aftermath is something they can be proud of.

The FIA know they did wrong in the way they systematically closed all of the "loopholes" which allowed that to happen and fired the person in charge at the time. I just wish they'd have had the balls to hand the trophy to the correct person in the end.

Max won the championship that day but he won it in a sleazy way

I think lewis understood at this time that he lost his last chance to be the first driver with 8 titles....

If Lewis lost fair and square, by Max being faster or God forbid Lewis having a technical issue, I wouldn't have a problem with AD. But Lewis was faster, staying out was the right call, and the car was perfect. Max had nothing on Lewis in the last 4 races. All I wanted as an ending to this incredible season is "May the best driver win." Well, when it counted Lewis mopped the floor with Red Bull and Max, but he didn't win. He probably would've retired if he won the 8th, if not right away, then after driving the 2022 car. I can at least watch my hero race for a few more years. The bigger the pride, the bigger the fall. The bigger the fall, the harder the climb. The harder the climb, the more triumphant the ending. Lewis is climbing back up, and we're climbing with him.
