When a Meg tooth shows up on a beach somewhere that isn't thousands of years old, but instead has live tissue still attached, I'll think about changing my mind. Until then, they are extinct.

Alternate titel: sightings of big sharks that can CLEARLY be identified as normal shark species

It always seems to amaze me how good Megalodon has become at avoiding cameras over the past 2 million years 🤔

there is a large cold water shark called the greenland shark that is known to exist and stays in northern and arctic waters

Yes, the second one is absolutely a basking shark, you can tell by the colouration, the curve of the dorsal fin and the fact that it had a very pointed snout with widened gill arches. You can reliably determine that sharks species if you have ever so much as googled "what is a shark?"

Okay so, it's possible that a species deemed extinct for millions of years can actually be "alive & well" but NOT possible that basking sharks have returned to the waters off of BC? Because that makes so much sense, sure.

That’s a Greenland shark, the first shark shown.

I don't even know why some people are that keen for their existence.. they would be like a real life horror movie if they still exist.

I think the scientists said it was a pacific sleeper shark. They are a relative of the Greenland shark. The cage was mistaken by the media to be a sunken diver's cage, but it was just a small bait cage. This, they made a mistake with the scale. It was actually off the coast of Japan.

I would have to believe there are animals out there that still remain a mystery.

75% of your "proof " came from a discovery Channel shark week show from 2013! Megaladon: the monster shark lives!

It’s like seeing a ghost. You never believe that they exist until you see one for yourself. And even then, other people are not going to believe you.

The level of food needed to sustain a Megalodon rules out the possibility of them living in deep ocean. Not enough food source.

i think its kinda cool how the ocean is so unexplored it makes me feel small lol

You didn't mention the most important part about the Megalodon filmed in Brazil (6:26). All whale's tails move up and down to propel through water while all sharks' tails move from side to side.

I can't say for sure. But I do know that there has been several ocean species that scientists swore were extinct, and their not. Not to mention that we know more about space than we do our own oceans. So really no one can know for certain. But I wouldn't be surprised if the scientists are wrong.

PSA "Not a single Megalodon was shown in the making of this picture".

*sighs* Ok
1: Sleeper shark, a relative of the Greenland shark, and this was not even filmed in the Mariana Trench.
2: No footage has ever been captured of the Black Demon so possibly a miss identified Great White with Melanism (the opposite of Albino)
3: Basking shark most likely or a large Great White, no features are available in the clip to help determine scale.
4: Thats... actually a great description, good job.
5: This is a clip from the Discovery channels mocumentary Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives, and is a KNOWN FAKE CLIP, it annoys me people keep using footage from this as "proof" however if you can find it I recommend giving it a watch, it's cheesy as all hell but fun.
6: Known fake pic
7: Picture from the Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives sequel Megalodon: The New Evidence.
8: Fake clip again from Megalodon: The New Evidence.

Do I think Megalodon still exists? Unlikely, Does it now live in the Mariana Trench? HIGHLY unlikely, nowhere near enough food for it down there, Do I want it to still exist? sure why not that would be cool.
