Anu-ano nga ba ang duties and responsibilities ng isang Safety Officer dito sa Pinas?

Based on Department Order 198-18 Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No. 11058 ”An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof”,

Section 14. Safety Officer. – In the implementation of OSH program, safety officers shall
be employed or designated with the following duties and responsibilities:

(a) Oversee the overall management of the OSH program in coordination with the OSH
committee;

(b) Frequently monitor and inspect any health or safety aspect of the operation being
undertaken with the participation of supervisors and workers;

(c) Assist government inspectors in the conduct of safety and health inspection at any time
whenever work is being performed or during the conduct of an accident investigation
by providing necessary information and OSH reports as required by the OSH standards;
and

(d) Issue Work Stoppage Order (WSO) when necessary based on the requirements and
procedures provided by the OSH standards.

Hi. applicable ang osh standard for general contractor or client only . but not in subcontractor. the safety officer of subcontractor is for compliance only for philippines company (subcon)yun po ang wrong culture sa pinas. kaya walang natutunan masyado mga safety even duties responsibilities hinde rin nila alam PERO ACCORDING THE LAW RA 11058 GENERAL TERM INUUTOS SA LAHAT NG SAFETY OFFICER NA MAGING STRONG kaso pagsubcon ka hinde mo magagawa at under ka ng sarili mung operation.unlike sa gencon indepedent ang safety department. SALAMAT sa pagpapaliwanag malaking tulong ito sa mga new bie na s.o malaman nila hinde joke ang pag se safety officer.
