Princess Cruises will homeport a cruise ship in Port Canaveral in 2024 and debate is blowing up on Reddit. A cruiser is being shamed for wanting to wear pajamas to breakfast on a cruise. Let's talk about it!

If you wouldnt wear pjs to a restaurant at home, then dont do it on a cruise ship.

Get dressed BEFORE you leave your cabin. Your cabin is your "house" while on board. Get dressed before you leave your house.

I wouldn't wear pjs out of my stateroom but wouldn't care if others do. I used to care what other people wore and then it occurred to me that it really doesn't matter. It's not affecting my life. I'd prefer that they not be revealing pjs if the person decides to go to breakfast, but I'd assume that crew members would say something if it were against rules. No one is making anyone look at people in pjs. Avert your gaze if so easily offended. Being judgmental takes more energy than I care to exert anymore. 😂

9:08 Pajamas to breakfast??? Absolutely not. Wake up, brush your teeth, wash your face, brush your hair, and GET DRESSED BEFORE leaving your stateroom.

Pajamas are not acceptable in a public place—you may be on vacation, but any food venue on a cruise ship should be treated as if you were eating out at a public restaurant.

It's not OK to wear pajamas to the breakfast buffet. The only place one should be wearing pajamas for breakfast is in their cabin when they have ordered room service.

On one level, I don’t really care what fellow cruisers wear to Breakfast. But on the other hand, wearing your PJs to breakfast does nothing to get rid of the WalMart of the seas image of some cruise lines.

I've seen some "cover ups" for bathing suits worn at the buffet that are questionable, most pjs cover more than that. That being said, I'm more inclined to feel like the buffet is much more relaxed. The MDR should be a place to be fully dressed regardless of time of day.

I wouldn’t wear pjs to breakfast, but I don’t care what someone else wears.

Once on a cruise, the weather was unpredictably rainy and cool and this one family didn’t bring anything but warm weather clothing. I saw them all over the ship and all hours wearing their matching flannel Carnival pjs that they’d bought in the onboard shop. I thought it was pretty resourceful of them.

Going to eat in your pjs on a cruise is a NO NO!! Also.. going to eat in any dining room on a ship with your swimsuit without a cover up… is classless!!!

Years back cruising was a bastion of class. I miss that now, at least in the dining room. Formal nights set cruising apart.

If my Homie Ludacris wears his tiger stripe onesie to breakfast.. then anyone should be able to go full Walmart & break out the fuzzy bunny slippers to the buffet! 😂

I read a question on a cruise fb page recently where the lady wanted to wear a bathrobe the entire cruise. I wouldn’t wear pjs and would prefer not seeing others wear them.

No pajamas, swimwear cover ups, etc. in dining areas, including the buffet. If you can't bother yourself to get dressed then get Room Service.

Tony, I am so tired of the grumpy dress code police people shaming other passengers for wanting to be comfortable on their vacation! Live and let live people 🙌
