The cloth waist capes add so much to the figures. It's a major bummer to not be getting those anymore. ☹️

I don't ever buy custom weapons but the custom capes are something I'd definitely get.

As far as the cloths go, you can actually make custom ones using paper and some marker. I’ve never done it but I’ve seen people do it. Really helps to nail down accuracy even further.

Using the pouch piece in a military context is brilliant! fun vid

Why doesn’t Lego go back to the plastic waist capes like in the original clone battle pack? Those were perfect!

Awesome additions on both ends. That pouch on the heavy gunner is amazing with the folds. Even gives the look of a flap to open/close!

Those official LEGO capes are absurdly expensive, I definitely prefer the custom versions of the minifigures as they’re more affordable and look the most accurate. Great video, David, looking forward to the next Geonosis update!

Both versions are great. Without question, the custom is a better deal for those who want to upgrade their battle pack. I just wished the sets came with the waistcapes and pauldrons in the first place.
One of my early Lego Star Wars sets was the 7255 General Grievous Chase. Both Grievous and Obi Wan came with capes in that set. Still bugs me they are suddenly removing cloth accessories, when they've always been in playsets.

Was already working on ways to upgrade these troops, but those custom pouches are perfect

I forgot how awesome Brickarms is. Especially with the cheap price too

I’d also recommend changing the color of the antenna for the office. I just got this pack and the Rex micro-fighter and I got so much extra helmet accessories. The grey antenna on the officer adds just a little more

A much better upgrade for the sniper is to use a tranquilliser piece, adding a lightsaber piece to the top in grey works so well :)

Lego could do side leg printing or even dual molded legs to mimic the waist capes, which would be way better than those tiny lines on the minifigs

The custom looks great! Thanks for showing us this.

Nice work on the custom figs. Love the brickarms rifles. I use them a lot too. I added a touch of weathering to mine with some watered down black acrylic paint. I much prefer the battle hardened look.

For the waistcape, I’ve also tried using the dark blue one that came with Alfred from the Lego Batman Movie Batcave set. It’s a different shape from usual Star Wars waistcapes, but is an ideal colour.

Good video and great additions to this set on both official lego and custom pieces. Only nitpick I have is that the specialist doesnt use a sniper variant of the DC-15 but instead a Valken-38X. The scoped version of the DC-15 you showed in the video should go to the heavies since you can use that variant in Battlefront 2 on heavy

I made my own video of upgrading them, but this is just insane! They look so accurate.👍😮

I do agree preferring capes and accessories like that but even if it's not your first Lego set, putting those capes on can be a pain sometimes

Both versions look fantastic! I have a question, will Minifigs4U be releasing a blue visor piece for the heavy troopers?
