Replacing scallops with mushrooms is visually astounding and probably still tastes pretty good

For the lobster roll, I suggest tearing/shredding up the meat! It makes it soak up the butter and sauce a LOT better and makes the texture a lot more natural on the tongue

When I was young, my mom used to cut up that fake crab into bits and put it over spaghetti with alfredo sauce. It was actually pretty damn good.

Edit: For those that want it, this is exactly how she made it:

"I made fettuccine. I microwaved the sauce slowly, stirring often. Then dished up the pasta, put the crab on top and spooned the hot Alfredo over it."

I love the aggressive calling of imitation crab as “lobster”

This is some of the nicest cooking content I've seen on here. Nothing crude or over-the-top, nothing crazy or overdone, just cooking. And helpful cooking, too.

I literally just made the lobster rolls for my wife and I. You seriously underestimated just how good they would be! We were REELING. Good stuff. Adding this to my regular dinner rotation. Thanks!

When I was young if we're broke only rice with salt and warm water is our meal...
But these experiences makes me grateful everyday for what we have today❤️

I used to mix Campbell's mushroom soup with rice, a splash of white wine, grated parmesan cheese and call it poor man's risotto.

I'm allergic to shellfish, so this is actually a really great alternative for me :) thanks for posting!

I had risotto once a long time ago and didn't really like it. Then my friend made some at the cottage, but he kinda underdid it. He's a professional chef but he was making 5 dishes at once for like 14 people, so I won't flame him too hard. And other than crunchy rice, it was great.

So I tried to make some about a month ago with chicken stock and had it with boneless fried chicken thighs. Risotto is actually nuts good when you give it enough love and really focus on it. Plus, being basically rice and stock, it's cheap as hell. I've made it like 9 times since 😂

Yo these are pretty interesting. Even if you're not broke its a good way to show that something doesn't have to be expensive to look good and taste good

Hey, if my BF ever cooked like this for a date, he’s 100% a keeper. Not only does this take effort but it would be kinda cute ngl. Like he wants to make things fancy for the date but doesn’t have the money so goes all out on effort and creativity. 100% respectable and would make the date far more memorable than just a typical date at some restaurant. I’d love him for this.

ngl using the seafood ramen soup pack for stock was genius

this looks so good! it'd be neat if you showed the total cost of the ingredients used so we could see how affordable these dishes are!
