Ok everyone I figured it out. You of course build the artillery unit then go into building mode walk up to a minute man when they are highlight green, command them to go toward the artillery unit, then assign them to the artillery unit when they are close to it. Hope this helps...

While you are on a building mode just go to a Minutemen. Dont press anything, until the Minutemen turns green it will say down on the options "Command". Press it and go to an artillery and make him go there.

I dont understand why my materials dont transfer between workshops...how am i supposed to find gears at the castle? Or am i doing something wrong?

And here I was thinking you had to assign the Cannons at all 4 sides of the castle...

ok i made the artillery and set up the laser turrets but its not completing the quest for some reason

the lack of a free camera in settlement mode and snap on / snap off structures makes building lackluster for me hopefully mods will fix that.

this game can be so confusing sometimes with the directions, now i can't assign anyone to the artillery because there's only two minutemen there, the guy at the radio and ronnie shaw, i cant assign either of them

You have to assign one of your companions, dismiss them first, then enter workshop mode and assign them

Kept looking for it in defense and other categories for about a fucking hour
This game really needs more tutorials

So I have built THREE of these artillery guns and she still says "what are you waiting for.... blah blah blah" when I go to talk to her and it says i need to use the parts i picked up from the armory (which I did pick up). Anyone know what to do? its making very frustrated.

when I select the artillery I have all the required materials but it won't show up for me to build it.

people having trouble assigning settlers to the artillery, whilst i'm having problems getting them to fire the damn artillery at the target! 😆

heads up if it dosent pop up to build dat means ur missing something even though it said I had every part for it good thing I had a lot of junk saved up at my house

took forever to find the guy in the bunker, that could be assigned to the guns.
